Even if i wasn't friends with the man I'd still say he was a great choice for a Radio 1 DJ. He is very quick, very funny and knwos how to have a laugh. His comic characters are genius. Film reviewer Joe king, and naked apart from a thong cornish DJ "Pete thong" ...absolutely hilarious. I dare anyone to watch Joe as "Pete Thong" and not laugh their heads off...brilliant. I liked him way before I worked with him so it's not a bias opinion. The Saturday show is so not the right vehicle for him. He shone on The phonezone and Top Of the pops at Play because they wree unscripted shows where we just went into the studio for three hours and recorded ourselves messing around, oh the joys of satelite televison and small audiences!
