Allright,allright, I know I 'Should get out more' etc, but for the past hour or so I have been observing a little spider who has built a web on the outside of the kitchen window frame. His name is 'Steve'. This morning he(or she - but then 'Steve' would be a silly name for a girl spider wouldn't it?)rotated a couple of times in the centre of his web then sprang up on his legs ready for 'the kill'- game on ....unfortunately the 'prey' which had been caught in the web turned out to be a tiny birds feather.'Steve' pounced on it,stopped, then walked slowly back to the middle of the web and folded his arms..amazing...

he's obviously oppressing the poor thing with the name steve. i've a whole mess of spiders and they told me their names were archie, adrian, michelle, and robin.

im a little worried about the spider having arms. i dont know what kind of freaky mutant spiders they get down south but here ooop north ours only have legs. generally they have 8 unless its a scouse spider which has 4 bot some bricks to prop up the others.....

Steve appears to have died . No official confirmation as yet, but he seems to be a bit 'crinkly' and is curled up in a ball. I shall give him a poke with my potato masher later.....

A bird flew into my window recently and died

That happened to me yesterday, the bird just got a heacache instead. It flew off a bit wobbly.

Funnily enough, that happened to me on Tuesday. I was standing watching tv with a cup of hot tea in my hand when a bird swarmed into my patio window. The noise was so startling I fell over, banging into a side table throwing hundreds of scrunched up snot-covered tissues into the air (I had had a cold the previous day). Luckily, the cup of hot tea missed any part of my anatomy, instead scolding my cat (whos name is Smudge by the way). Smudge jumped up from her sleeping position and ran in some random direction. Sadly her movement was violently halted as she, too, like the bird, smashed into the patio.

Both the bird and Smudge are living. However I felt the need for a quick shower.
