Only places like Kazaa and other P2P programs have single MP3's. Other places usually on have albums.

any way i could edit the torrent file so it only downloads the one i want? or am i gonna have to downlaod them all until the one iw ant is done

You'd have to download all of the album then delete the songs you don't want.

No, it usually comes as a .Zip file so you need to download it 100%.

thing is im using dial up and its a bit of a waste of time downlaoding the whole thing just for one song...hmmm oh well

If you were discussing downloading legal copyright-free MP3's it would be different of course.

If you used the Azureus client you can simply start your download, double click it and select 'Do Not Download' for the files you don't want. Other clients should also do this.
