Thinking there may be a few requests for drunken dave clips so whack them in here, may do a montage of all the clips, that could work. . .

Thanks Dickie

Tedious Link was brilliant imo and I also liked the bit where he was trying to do maths

Make sure you get the bit about his belt around his skin instead of his jeans.

he didn't sound *that* drunk, he wasn't slurring his words or anything like that - just coming out with some random stuff every now and again, it was funny!

It was hugely funny although a bit exaggerated I think!

I agree with "huckerby6".

I thought the Maths link out of the 8:30 news and his drunken Tedious Link were the best bits (although granted I've only heard an hour and a bit so far).

Not very often I post stuff here but for all of you that requested it - yesterday's intoxicated tedious link

Do not stream the file! Right click and choose save target/file as and download to your HD!

The download now works - connection has been fixed.

Whoa, don't think you need to be recording your clips in 224kbps and 48khz!

yeah that is rather OTT, but it's his bandwidth.. heh

and someone flame me if i'm wrong - but isn't it against copyright laws to include the Kylie song after the clip?

I'll record my clips at whatever bitrate and sample rate I choose, thank you very much.

Perhaps this clip is more to your quality?

And to the person who said it is against copyright laws to include the Kylie song after the tedious link, who cares? I'm sure you've broken the laws more times by downloading music, trying smoking/drinking under age or even downloading mp3 files off Kazaa? There's more to life than worrying about the legality of a Kylie song after a Chris Moyles clip you know!

Personally I think you should be greatful I have even bothered to do this - I normally don't record bits of the show as I'm not at home during that time and don't listen to the radio in the mornings, and to get told that my clip is too good quality and that it is illegal because I've not bothered to edit out the Kylie song probably shows how appreciative you are. A thank you would be nice rather than "Whoa, don't think you need to be recording your clips in 224kbps and 48khz" and "and someone flame me if i'm wrong - but isn't it against copyright laws to include the Kylie song after the clip?". :x

I wasn't having a go, merely commenting that FM is broadcast at 96kbps and DAB/Sky is 128kbps.

We've had enough threads on this forum discussing what quality clips should be uploaded in so there's no need to go on about it, just saying that there's no point in encoding a clip that cannot physically be as good as the quality you're saving at. The quality of the clip in low quality is shit, got a feeling that you're taking the piss with that.

Don't think the copyright is a problem with the Kylie track, but more to the point, why have you left the song in anyway?

P.s. I think you just got flamed Sionide

Point taken, fair play.. blah blah you win I shut up now.. *gets burnt by all the flames* heh, and i don't smoke

and Dickie, the song was left on the end because that's what tom requested.. (i think) for some random unknown reason because it's not a very good track (imho)
*is now dead from flame*

Near the beginning, I think it was about quarter past 7, Dave giggled a really childish drunk giggle. Can you put that on the montage? Don't know why, just made me laugh!

FM isn't a digital broadcast so you cant measure it in kbps (for some reason people often quote 96kbps but that's pretty arbitrary). If you measured how much space R1 takes up on FM it would probably be equivilant to something like 1,500kbs as it isn't compressed. You can tell the difference between MP3 128kbps FM recordings and 224kbps FM recordings on very good speakers etc. but it is subjective as to if you want this larger file. 128kbps DAB isn't the same as a 128kbps mp3 because it is in the less efficient mp2 format and full of error correction so you can get a solid signal (which makes it sound a little flat sometimes). I have no idea what Sky uses (but people often say 128kbps), but that has almost 1 bit of error correction to every 2 bits of data to make up for bad weather etc. but they probably use a very efficient encoder to balance this out. It certainly sounds worse than an MP3.

Basically you can’t compare bit rates. There is a point to recording FM 224kbps, but for just Chris talking you might want to save space.
