I caught a bit of Jo Whiley yesterday or the day before and she had James Dreyfus on from Hells Kitchen. He was talking about how Gordon Ramsay used to piss them off. He said "piss" four times and Jo told him so, and then he remembered he was on live radio and went "oh sh*t".

there's a clip in the sound vault where Dave nearly swears on the air, it's really funny... he's trying to say this rhyme thing and he gets it wrong and goes "oh bollo....." and chris says "oooooohhhh what????? that was close!!!!" hahaha

The rules of swearing on the radio are very vague. Basically it says that you should not offend people, so someone could get away with saying 'f***' on XFM at 11PM easily but on Radio 1 at 8:30AM people are likely to complain even at someone saying 'piss'. If people write to Offcom in disgust, a load of old men will listen to the tape in a room and decide if this offends people and fine the radio station if necessary. There aren't any hard and fast rules or 'watersheds' like on TV.

Remember Chris almost said "a f***ing great prize" not too long ago, that must be the closest he has got.
