Mobile phone matrixs are sites that sell a CD for £20 with the promise of a free, unlocked mobile of your choice.

I have seen a few of these online, and was wondering if they actually work. Do any of you have any experience with these sites? Has anyone you know recieved a phone?

According to 'Short change' on cbbc (I don't normally watch this btw...) you do get your mobile, but the current lists and daily sales means you will receive the mobile in around 3 years time.

I used to love it and am very ashamed to say I have even taken part in the pricing wars thing where you have to find the cheapest price and most expensive of an item :D

lol i saw that one too, they put you on a list or sumthing until some other people sign up so they have enough money to pay for your phone. Complete scam and rip off.

some people put there list on EBAY to attract more people to it. They still a "BRAND NEW PHONE" for like a fiver, but infact they only give people the address to this system, which refers them to it so they get their phone quicker.

One of the scams Ive seen is if you buy a CD with loads of stuff on for £20 you go onto a 'waiting list' to win an Ipod - An Ipod for £20... come on!

"an iPod for £20" - common sense would tell you it's bollocks..

They're all a load of shit (just like Eamon and Frankee!) Seriously, DON'T send your money to these sites - you'll never get your phone.. I know a couple of people who stupidly sent in £40 to this thing and they still don't have their phone - I think that approx 640 people have to register before they'll get theirs...

Basically it works like this: Person number 1 buys a CD for £20 and a "place" in the list.. then, Person 2 registers and gets a CD - then there is £40 in the pot, once another 28 people have registered, that's £600 in the pot and the item can be purchased by the owner of the system and sent off to person number 1, then person number 2 is next and they have to wait till another 29 people register untill they get their phone.. Therefore, you'll have to wait (Number you are in the Queue x Total Number in Queue) before you get your phone or ipod..

Otherwise known as Pyramid Schemes, they're illegal in most countries and they only they survive is through loop-holes in the law. Such as they claim to "sell" the CD and give away a "free" gift (once you get to the top of the lists)

Don't send your money in! You'll never get your phone!!
