If you have a well maintained, quality machine you find you don't see a blue screen ever. I haven't seen one for over a year.

Not true, my pc is maintained as much as possible but if some hardware is faulty blue screenage can occur.

It's because Windows lets you be really slack with your hardware and drivers, where as with Linux you have to be perfect. If you buy a ready made PC you are less likely to see a blue screen.
