Eminem bootlegs proving popular on 'unofficial remix' website
A bootleg website is asking fans to submit unofficial remixes of Eminem's Without Me.
The Boom Selection site already features 30 bootlegs of the rapper's chart-topping single.
They include a mix of the Without Me vocals over the instrumental track from The Prodigy's Breathe.
Another combines the acapella version with a Vince Clark remix of The Happy Mondays' Wrote For Luck.
Fans are asked to rate the individual bootlegs to produce a chart reflecting the most popular submissions.
The Boom Selection website claims its aim is "to highlight the recent madness of bootlegging certain acapellas from artists such as Missy Elliot, Eminem and Destiny's Child, who seem to have declared open season on their music by releasing them into the public domain.
"Despite the illegality of bootlegging, some record companies see it as free promotion for their product to be associated with other famous pieces of music, spread through the internet and white labels."
The site has also made unofficial remixes featuring Eminem combined with Paul McCartney, Will Young, Kylie and The Smiths available for download.
Eminem has previously threatened violence towards anyone bootlegging his recordings.
