well aren't you a sad lot.

the films are quite good, and appeal to a broader audience than tradtional sci-fi/fantasy flicks.

i dug it.

It may suprise you to know i like fantasy books.... heh.

I struggle with sci-fi and fantasy and horror films as i just cant take them seriously. With books its much easier because your mind adapts it to fit.

Is it better than Finding Nemo?

I can't speak for the new film because I haven't seen it yet but the first two were great.

Liv Tyler was looking hot on film 2003 the other night as well.

finding nemo was a really sad movie if you think about it.

rotk is pretty good. comparable to the first two. though i could do without elijah wood- who as one reviewer put it, "looked constipated."

What was sad about Nemo? It had a happy ending didn't it?

Why spend 2 years reading the books, when you could just spent 9 hours watching the films?

it's not for everybody. my best friend slept through most of the first and skipped the others.

sidla, 2 YEARS to read the books? it goes faster if you don't move your lips.

Yeah, I'm very out of practice. That's why I read Harry Potter, I only need to read each paragraph once.

Neither does any film about a book. Unless the book was crap in the first place. I'd like to see someone else do better.

I went to see it this afternoon. Thinking about it he did look constipated most of the time.

I don't think ROTK is quite as good as the two towers in terms of action but it is fantastic nonetheless. I just wish there was some kind of flashback at the beginning because I had totally forgotten where everyone was up to...

My highlight though was Miranda Otto (Eowyn)...she was looking damn good.

I don't think Dude Where's My Car is a bad film - it sets out to be a stupid comedy, which is what it achieves. Added to that, LOTR is not a comedy.

dude wheres my car is an awful film. dumb and dumber is a stupid comedy but its funny. dude probably needs a crate of stella to be appreciated.
