DJ Otzi has been taken to hospital after being injured in a car crash.

The Austrian singer, who had a number one hit with Hey Baby, crashed into the back of a car on an icy road near his home in Innsbruck.

DJ Otzi, whose real name is Gerry Friedle, told police he was unable to brake in time when the driver skidded in front of him.

The 32-year-old, who also recently re-released the Burger Song, was taken to the University Clinic in Innsbruck suffering with neck injuries. His two passengers and the driver of the other car were also hospitalised.

Singer hurt in car accident

Daniel Bedingfield has been injured in a car accident in New Zealand.

The incident happened near Whangarei in the north of New Zealand's North Island. The singer, who has had three number one hits in the UK, suffered head and neck injuries. He was treated in hospital but has now been discharged. A spokesman for Whangarei police said no further details are available. It is not known whether New Zealand-born Bedingfield, 24, was the driver or passenger or if another vehicle was involved. Bedingfield is on holiday in New Zealand.

The artist burst on to the British dance scene in 2001 with his album Gotta Get Thru This. The single went to number one in the charts and the album sold more than three million copies. After being rejected by several record labels, Bedingfield recorded most of the album in his own bedroom.

Agreed MC. My old man and I watched it..he didn't even know who he was, and thought he was a tw@t himself. For those who didn't see it, he got all uptight, and waffled on about how Jarvis * didn't deserve to be on the same stage as Michael Jackson, let alone moon at the Brit Awards.
