im not one for foreign news but in the interests of keeping up, i just want to know what eta is. right i know they are terrorists but what are they fighting for, aims, objectives, that sort of thing. it might enlighten some other ppl too and educate poppy. does this effect ppl going to ibiza, if they do, they are doing a good job then

Basically they are fighting for an independent land for the Basque people - who are culturally,etnically and linguistically different to your average Spaniard.<br>They think the best way to go about that is blow-up anybody who disagrees with them...very much similar to the IRA; only much better organised.

I meant that they were like the IRA when it comes to blowing people up indiscrimately.<br>They're 'struggle' is probably more akin to Scotland; imagine a terrorist wing of the Scottish National Party and you've got ETA.<br>They are now targeting popular tourist areas of Spain eg.Ibiza,Majorca,Manorca etc for 2 reasons: <br>1 To bring their cause to international attention and more importantly<br>2 To devastate the huge tourist trade in Spain which makes up a large part of their Gross Domestic Product(GDP).<br>I mean if they're bombing Ibiza you would probably think 'I'm going to Ayia Napa this year'
