When is Jo Whiley returning to radio1? Poor Nemone will have nothing to do all week when she returns. Actually, it will be a bit odd when Jo Whiley comes back, she's been off for so long...

I have to back you up on the Human Zoo - listned to it for the first time on Sunday, pure genius that wouldn't sound out of place in a Chris Morris sketch. The presenter seems a bit of a ****** though, maybe he will grow on me.
the_dr

dr or fat_boy or anyone else who knows - just wondering if you know the official times for the human zoo. i think it used to be 8pm - 1am, or something ridiculous like that. also, he used to do shows on saturday and friday aswell. do you know anything about those? i'm fairly sure the friday one was on sport. and the saturday one was not the same as the "the human zoo" in it's setup also.
thanks

ok, Boyd only does the Human Zoo on a sunday night, from 10pm-1am. On Thursday night from 7pm-10pm he does a show which is half about wrestling (WWF, WCW etc), where he has people from wrestling websites and magazines, as well as real wrestlers on, to take calls from people about the "sport"; the other half of the show is about betting & gambling.
Friday night Boyd does from 10pm-11pm a cr.appy Sports Quiz. Then from 11pm-2am he just takes calls from people on whatever they want to talk about, from current affairs to why someone's can't get a girlfriend. He occasionally goes quite deep into things - he can seem arrogant & patronising but he certainly has an interesting view of society.
Saturday 8pm-10pm its Boyd's wrestling show again and 10pm-1am its the "Saturday Evening Phone-in" which again is like Friday with him just taking calls on anything.
Phew! Hope that helps Monkey

thanks very much fat_boy. much appreciated.
boyd's got a reasoning, if occasionaly questionable, view on things. as with all late night phone in people, he has the skills from experience (earnt over time from arguing with callers) to thump his point of view repeatedly on your head aswell as any caller who strongly disagrees. though when he's laid back on the human zoo, he occasionally says something pretty profound(occasionallY :)).

Theres a DJ on Key 103 like that - he's called James Stanich. Listen to his show, which usually discussed issues like the Oldham riots, and you will think one thing: I thought Alan Partridge was at Norwich FM. My mates dad phoned up once, and unfortunetly he is racist. James Staniches politics is left wing, but not liberal. Heres how part of the call went.
Stanich: "That bullsh*t Sean and you know it. I've told about 15 times - thats *reported* crime"
Sean: "Yea but people are just looking to kick-off, aren't they?"
(A slight mobile phone ringing can be heard in the background of Sean's call)
Stanich: "But that repor... Is that your phone? Or is that your microwave? Have you cooked your wifes tampons for dinner?"
(Stanich cuts off Sean and plays one of his cheesy jingles, featuring Homer Simpson)
The guy is not funny, doesn't let the callers speak and is very, very arrogant. The only bit about the show which is funny is how much he sounds like Alan Partidge, especially compared to the Mancunican callers.
the_dr

Can someone record and upload a clip of this gimp (possibly including a homer simpson jingle) so that we less priviledged people down south can hear him?

I'll try and get the tape of him and convert it to an mp3.
the_dr

Stannige is **** . (spelt right too). 2nd fave DeeJays after M&L are Pete and Geoff. Presenter wise its Nick Abbot while doing talk, Ian Collins or Chris Ashley.
Boyd is a nob. The zoo is good.
talkSPORT - us nutters make it wot it is (Well overnight, why do YOU think Charlie Wolf landed that job? Was it Suzie Quatro? who did Suzie Quatro? Oh yes it was us). 10 points to anyone cept Crofty who knows wot thats about.

I know what its about but im not gonna tell anyone else. Can i have my points credited to my listener reward card please? My listener number is 1249

#103109
Thats a low listener number you have there. I will have to transfer them from my listener account. How many points do you have yet? Enough for the limited edition mark and lard tea cosy?

I'm saving up for the limited edition mark and lard saucepans

They did look nice in the catalogue, i just don't think they would be practical for everyday use. I was thinking of getting Family Mahone tickets with my listener points but decided against that
a) because they only cost £6
and
b) because i can probably wangle them for free
Therefore it would be a waste of said listener points. I would like a pack of those Mark and Lard trading cards though - still looking for that illusive Keith the bartender card.

I'll swap u a keith the bartender card for a slim and shady limited edition 3D hologram card
