The team seemed to enjoy the show more than the listener probably today. Leeds won, Man Utd got beat and Liverpool drew so Chris was especially happy. Dave was supposed to be back at his girlfriends by 10pm but drunkenly came in past midnight. Dave rustled the culinary heaven last night of Baked Beans, some Nik Naks and soggy Fish Fingers he heated up in a microwave. His girlfriend wasnt impressed and gave him the cold shoulder and refused to talk to him. Whilst talking midlink, Dave recieved a phone call from her. As you maybe aware now, she prefers to listen to Dr Fox and forgets hes on air. Dave told her to ring later but they have made up.
Dave had a Guess Who, which was Wish You Were Here presenter Judith Chalmers. He saw her driving in Great Portland Street. Chris had a new record to play called Las Ketchup that was a big hit all over Spain but then again what do they know about music. Think Macerena mixed with Truth Hurts and thats the best summary of it. Nick Wurzley promotes the record from Columbia Radio Promotions so they decide to ring him up and ask him if Las Ketchup is the Spanish for Tommy Sauce. Will interrupted Chris by scoffing Scampi and Lemon Nik Naks that they received free from the reception area. London Fashion Week also sent them some Cowpie from a Horse. Yes you read that correctly.
Jane was Live in the Studio for
Big Blubber
Lizzie -1/10 = No training from Lizzie and thought that Lizzie is not cycling in anymore.
Dave 6/10 = Dave was out twice this week but he was 25 minutes late today.
Chris 6/10 = Out for an hour run on Monday and on Tuesday but no show last 2 days
Will 6/10 = Absent on Tuesday but there today out but he was more friendly than Dave
Jane came in to tax their brain power about healthy living under the pun title The Weakest Lymph and whoever won it would win the title for Licky Licky Brown Nose. Dave was peeved that he didnt win it outright because he was out twice but Jane said his attitude was bad. The training was hampered by two people making love on the park bench. Chris won the Weakest Lymph so Mr Moyles wins the LICKY LICKY BROWN NOSE AWARD.
Chris needed to poo so told Dave directions on how to outro the song and go into the news jingle. Everything seemed to be going well until Will buggered it up and put the news sting in too early and Dave went Bloody Hell. Chris previewed the TV on tonight. The usual suspects were Eastenders at 7:30pm, Bargain Hunt at 8pm and Phoenix Nights at 10pm on Channel 4. Phoenix Nights is the last in the series and Chris wants Peter Kay on the show still, but Will said he cant at the moment because Kay is on a comedy tour of the UK. Chris comes up with the Peter Kay Round the UK idea, where Chris rings him up and asks him where he is. Will said that he will put a bid in.
Will has 3 top guests for the week starting October 7th, which will be the 4th birthday of the Afternoon Show. There will be a music legend, a famous Dj and a top band. I would hazard a guess and have a funny feeling that Tom Jones is one of them.
OTHER UNIMPORTANT BITS - Chris watched the Tupac documentary and said that Theroux nicked Nick Broomfields technique. Chris saw and said hello to Sarah Whatmore today. Chris played the Phoenix Nights Diffusion Mix again after 5 and the intro to Without Me by Eminem had many bootlegged tunes.
Daves Tedious Link
Cast Walkaway - Castaway was a recent film starring Tom Hanks - Hanks rhymes with Shanks as in Shanks and Bigfoot - Bigfoot and the Hendersons was a film that featured a big hairy creature - The Hairy Cornflake was the nickname of ex Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis - DLT has a beard - David Bellamy also has a beard - David Bellamy investigates creepy crawlies in remote locations such as Borneo and Anglesey - Anglesey is off the coast of Wales - People from Wales are known as Welsh - Manic Street Preachers are Welsh - Which links us to the Manics with Design For Life
