The power of Chris’s new show was there for all to see last night. After supporting him and predicting he would win the show, Mike Read was the first contestant to be voted out of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Chris blamed Dominic for giving him the kiss of death when he spoke to him prior to the series. Mike certainly failed to live up to Radio 1 expectations anyway. Newsbeat’s Kevin Keegan (Kevin Geoghegan) was in the jungle and was due to interview Mike before the end of the Chris’s show. Dom asked Chris if he had any questions for Kev to ask Mike. Chris jokingly told him to ask whether Mike would fill in for him on the R1 Breakfast Show when he goes on holiday. At 9:30 Dominic had the breaking news that Chris’s little joke had actually made the news. Mike Read hadn’t realised Chris was messing about and had swapped numbers with Geoghegan, thinking he had actually been asked to present the show in Chris’s absence. So much so that he was interviewed live on GMTV with Lorraine Kelly five minutes later and announced the news to her. Chris said he would quite happily have a day off to allow Mike to present the show as he feels the station is missing that cheesy retro type of DJ at the moment (it’s not - it has Wes).

Both Chris and Dave watched the show on ITV1 last night. Chris said because he’s not used to seeing Jordan on TV for such a long amount of time, he keeps forgetting about her huge knockers. Dave on the other hand said he is getting more and more used to them as the series goes on. Chris said he may be a fan of huge breasts but Jordan’s are just plain ridiculous - they even make Kerry McFadden look flat chested. Chris and Dave indulged in another session of Andre bashing including a link after 7am Newsbeat where Chris took the piss out of Andre’s * Rhyming Slang Poem last night, devising his own about the Moyles Show and reading it in an Australian accent. Following said link Dave was sent a * Rhyming Slang Quiz, where he had to fill in the answers as he went along. Some of Chris’s more imaginative guesses for tough rhymes included ex-Saturday Show presenter Joe Mace for Chevy Chase and Chris Waddle for Glenn Hoddle. Winona Ryder was Cider. Dave wondered what “butchers hook” was. Chris hurriedly said it meant “luck”...
Chris - I was panicking for a second there
(Dave laughs)

Chris’s second Buzz Off choice from his CD collection in Leeds this week was Not Over Yet by Grace (otherwise known as Paul Oakenfold) from 1995. Dave again wasn’t loving the choice of tune (he said it was too high energy for him at 7:20 in the morning). He questioned Chris’s “interesting” musical taste and buzzed after 35 seconds. Aled followed on 3 mins and Rach and the listeners both buzzed the song off at the same point on 3:37. Chris had two more tracks to play from the chosen artists of Radio 1’s ”Best Of New British Music Week”“. Today they included Natasha Berding-field, younger sister of Mr Daniel Berding-field himself. Chris played her new single, ironically called “Single”. Dave and Chris both thought it was good. Other comments on the text included “Great Song”, “Choon” (note the Ch spelling) and (from Mark in London) “She’s single cos she looks like a boot”. Harsh but fair (see above link to R1 ONLINE for her pic). One text message said “I’d rather buy that than Bros”.

GETTING <s>BROS</s> PETER ANDRE BACK IN THE CHARTS - MOYLES CAMPAIGN 2004:
Chris has now scrapped his whole campaign to get I Owe You Nothing by Bros re-released and back in the chart after all of one day. He said it was due to boring, technical record company reasons. Matt Goss is apparently in the studio recording new material though and offered to record the lyrics again, for them to release the newer version. Chris said that it just wouldn’t be the same as re-releasing the original but nevertheless went off to contemplate the offer. While doing so a fax came in from Damien at eastwest records saying they own the rights to Peter Andre’s songs and if enough interest was generated in a listener text poll, they would consider re-releasing his 1996 number 2 “smash” Mysterious Girl featuring Bubbler Ranx. Chris thought it was a fantastic idea and at 8:15 opened up yet another poll asking whether people thought it should be re-released or not. The votes came in thick and fast and after just 40 minutes Chris had received 20 000 plus texts, more than all of yesterday’s total. By 10 Chris had got 38 000 texts, the vast majority of them in favour of trying to get it back into the popular hit parade. Chris plugged the poll and the number 81199 to death again for almost 2 hours. He seemed really impressed with the total of texts but he’s still got some way to go to beat the 100,000 he got on the final day of Dave and Chappers Comic Relief Football Tour last year. The Andre campaign nevertheless received celebrity endorsements from Jo Whiley, Vermin Kay and Carpark Catchphrase Contestant Nicole from Harpenden...
Chris - It’s like Children In Need but without the charity side...well, some might argue
Steve *loverly knockers* Lamacq even recorded a spoof 3-4 min documentary on Peter Andre’s career for an edition of “A Potted History Of Pop”. Just like with The Not all those years ago, Chris added celebrity clips in to fit to what Lamacq was saying, including Beyonce accepting a Grammy as Peter Andre’s mother and The Darkness talking about how Oasis failed to break the Australian market. Was funny but a tad bizarre.

Following Sunday’s Breast-Gate at The SuperBowl, the publicity has worked a treat for Janet Jackson who has a new single to plug called Just A Little While, released on March 15th (Chris played it) and an album to follow on March 29th (Rachel’s birthday). Dave said it was much better than he thought it would be and it was a decent little pop song, Chris thought it was OK but was particularly liking the guitary intro which he first thought had a lot more potential than it ended up with. Chris also played the new single by Britney called Toxic. Aled loves it but Chris said he thinks that’s because it sounds like the theme tune to Graham Norton. To be fair it was another good pop tune and out of the three (Natasha Berding-field, Janet Jackson and Britney) I’d say Britney’s is the best. Chris and Juliette weren’t the best of friends this morning after what she saw as a blatantly sexist comment (unusual for Chris) at 8:00. Dave thought that it wasn’t completely sexist, just borderline. Chris simply stated that if the team went out together, the blokes would go boozing while the girls went shopping. Dave got involved and said that if women didn’t like washing up, they wouldn’t make washing up liquid smelling so girly and Chris said if it was a job for blokes, it would smell of bitter or the stuff you put on your foot when you get injured in Sunday morning football (although what he would know about that I have no idea). Dave said they also wouldn’t make oven gloves with flowers on them if women weren’t meant to cook. Juliette told Chris to bog off and when he later put her off during the 9:30 news and sport bulletin, she called him a monkey and a bully....
Chris (to Jules) - Listen, your trying to say that I’m sexist but I’m afraid your argument is as good as a woman driver...
Chris told Jules and Rachel he was only joking and said he wanted to end the argument and put a stop to the sexism right there..
Chris - Rachel?
Rachel - No I’m not making the tea
Chris - Oh OK
This week is National Donut week and the show was sent a load of free donuts today. Rachel was doubtful about eating one at first but after logging on to the Weightwatchers website and finding out they were just 4 points, she decided to treat herself.

CHARLIE BROOKS INTERVIEW:
Charlie (Janine in EastEnders) was on the phone after 8:30. I don’t know why exactly but she was. Today is her day off aswell. Charlie went to see Oasis with Chris and Dave many a year ago. Chris watched EastEnders last night (swotting up on his research) and said he is enjoying her current storylines at the moment, although he’d like to see her play another character rather than that bitch who everyone hates Janine. Charlie is leaving the show in March to pursue “theatre roles”, but she assured Chris that she’s not going into panto quite yet. Chris invited her onto the show during Janine’s last week in Albert Square. Charlie is training to do the London Marathon this year but isn’t enjoying it in the slightest. The furthest she’s run so far is 11km (roughly 8 miles) in an hour. Producer Rachel has of course “done the London Marathon you know”. She told Charlie she’ll love it and it’ll all be worth it in the end. Charlie asked Chris how his fitness regime was going. He admitted it’s gone downhill in the past year but he’s joined a gym again now (although he couldn’t be arsed going yesterday - now that's dedication for you). Chris asked how Charlie’s love life was going. She said really well although Chris couldn’t remember who her boyfriend was. Dave only knew via his wife’s Heat & Hello mags but couldn’t remember his name. It’s Party Organiser Tony Truman, whoever the hell he is.

CARPARK CATCHPHRASE:
NICOLE an Internet Company Manager from Harpenden 1
LEE a funny bordering on annoying labourer from Colchester 1

**The first ever draw on Carpark Catchphrase for 2 reasons, 1 - because they both beeped in at exactly the same time for the decider (Dave said it was a photo finish) and 2 - Chris was running really late for the end of the show. In a Viaduct The Revenge stylee both Nicole and Lee will be back on tomorrow after 9:30**

Daves Tedious Link
Michael Jackson Black Or White - “Black Or White?” is a question you might be asked when ordering coffee - Coffee and TV was a big hit for Blur - Blur’s Damon Albarn hails from Colchester - the same Essex town that created the man they call Steve Lamacq - Steve Lamacq shares the same first name as Steve Irwin the Australian crocodile man - Other famous crocodile experts include Bush Tucker Man and Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan - Paul Hogan is married to Linda Kozlowski - If you remove the first three letters of Kozlowski you’re left simply with “Lowski” which is the reverse of Ski Low, a type of yoghurt - Yoghurts are sold in pots - The word pots is an anagram of “Stop” which was a big hit in 1998 for The Spice Girls - Spice Girls The Movie starred Richard E Grant who then went on to star as Zak in the Argos adverts - Argos sell kettles - Kettles rhymes with Nettles as in John Nettles who starred as Jersey based detective Bergerac - Bergerac sounds like a French name to me - The French eat frogs which are green - and when you think of the colour “Green” in the context of great bands that you don’t hear enough of these days you think of Green Day of course - Which links us to Green Day and Time Of Your Life (Good Riddance)

FLAWS
* The reverse of Lowski is Ikswol, not Ski Low
* It wasn’t “Spice Girls The Movie”, it was “Spiceworld The Movie” (not spotted by anyone on the show but I’m ashamed to say by me)

Sat and today are up
