The show started today with Chris refusing to play the Everton goals from yesterday’s game (Everton thrashed Leeds 4-0). Dave said he had to and Chris gave in eventually. Chris and Dave both went to Goodison for the match and watched it from an executive box. Chris said they did a nice steak. Dave thanked injured Everton striker Kevin Campbell for looking after them. After the game Chris and Dave also met Everton’s Steve Watson (who scored a hatrick). Chris said all the kids waiting for Watson were asking him to sign their programs, footballs etc - Chris asked him to sign his arse. He said his second goal was a fluke, a view Dave didn’t agree with. Chris was ribbed by Dave all day and was not best pleased when David Gorilla made a point of highlighting Leeds troubles in the 4:30 sports news. Chris took Dave to his local in Leeds the night before the game and Dave, Chris - and Chris’s mum and dad (plus his brother providing answers via text) won the pub quiz by scoring 15 out of 20.
Chris and Dave were listening to a lot of local radio last night. They left Goodison at 6 and Chris didn’t get home until ten to midnight. He moaned about a wannabe Zane Lowe wacky DJ he was listening to, crap music scheduling (e.g Lumidee followed by David Bowie) and radio stations own unofficial charts - which result in them saying a
particular artist is number 1 all week when they are number 2 or 3 in the Official Radio 1 ‘Hit this is Wes’ chart - in this case The Darkness. Chris and Dave also listened to The Sunday Surgery with Briggie and Dr Mark - which provided them with a lot of material for today’s show. After a seamless link into the 3:30 news with Jon Stewart (George was in charge of Newsbeat today so she wasn’t on the air) Chris made a point of saying not all Radio 1 DJs are as good. This resulted in him playing a clip of Briggie at 11pm last night trying to introduce the news, but not being able to find the newsbeat button. Therefore the news music played for about 2 minutes with nobody talking. The Sunday Surgery also resulted in a new feature called Dr Moyles’s Monday Surgery. This included calls, texts and e-mails on trivial issues such as ‘what topping should I have on my pizza tonight?’ and ‘when I jog round the park later should I jog clockwise or anti-clockwise?’ When also driving home last night, the Milton Keynes Everton Supporters Club Minibus stopped next to Chris and Dave and some guy got out and shouted ‘Moylesy what’s the score?’. This guy’s mate called Chris a c**t but Chris wasn’t offended as he said at least he didn’t live in Milton
Keynes.
Today was Rachel’s first day as producer and Chris made a point of asking her questions and then when she started to answer, playing pre-recorded clips of Will saying this is the ghost of Will with his scary laugh. He would say things like ‘Rachel you’re rubbish and will be no match for me’. Chris dropped the mics really low and when Will had finished him and Dave pretended they couldn’t hear Will and it was only Rachel. Chris said him and Rachel will get on well as Rachel’s Kidderminster Harriers were also thrashed at the weekend, 6-1. Chris played a few fake adverts of him pretending to be Fran Healy from Travis leaving messages on Jo Whiley’s answer phone (like in the recent trails). He said if she didn’t ring him back soon he’d give the album to Dr Fox on Capital. Travis are in the Live Lounge with Jo Whiley tomorrow and Texas are Chris’s guests a week tomorrow. Other stuff today included Chris telling the story of how he had a minor shaving disaster on Friday, although not on his face. He was using his goatee trimmer down below and managed to cut himself. Aled sounded horrified.
Chris said he told the story as a warning to men everywhere to be careful, as he had to put cream on it after. Dave said ‘Safety First’. Dave sounded disgusted about the whole thing. He asked him if he styled it, Chris said ‘No, only conditioner and a bit of gel’. Dave said to Chris it must look like a plucked chicken. As the liner says, high brow entertainment for a confused generation. Chris also today became a Leeds Utd shareholder, courtesy of framedshare.co.uk who payed the £29.50 fee for him to officially own a 1p share in LUFC. He was sent a framed certificate confirming he is a registered shareholder in the club. Chris wanted to know if he had a say in which players were bought and which were sold. He said selling Paul Okon to Everton would be a good idea.
Chris watched the 8 Mile DVD and watched the Battle-raps as Rachel called it. Dave said it was an Ok film but wouldnt want to see it again. Chris called the pimp song P.A.M.P. Chris has heard the Travis album and he said it is a change in direction. That I find untue. Over the next couple of months, Radio 1 will be Hear It First Albums Project. Basement Jaxx, Pink, Strokes, Travis, Kylie will all premiere their new albums at Radio 1. 12 Memories by Travis will be released on the 13th October. Chris found the ending to the Travis song very funny. Chris said it sounded like they couldnt decide on the ending so they did 3 endings and pasted them together.
Monday Surgery ran out of callers
Dilemmas - Split up with girlfriend, delete her number from mobile or keep it, size 12 feet and cant get a good shop that has stylish shoes, should someone turn the heat on, should a person go to the shops if they cant be arsed (that one sort of answers itself)
Chris wanted to see if FIFA 2004 was out on the XBOX yet to replay the Everton Leeds match. Chris has Roque Jnr in his team. Daniel Bedingfield has another game of Guess Which Genre I Am Today with his new single Friday.
Tonight is the big night of Eastenders. Dirty Den is back! Yes I know he was shot 14 years ago but they are taking the Dallas route. Dave said that Den said his first line was Hello Princess. Dave said he got shot by an armed gunman. Chris said if you hire a hitman, it would be good if they were armed. Chris wanted to know if he still ran the Paradise Club (he did that after Eastenders in the early 90's). Eastenders were up for 21 awards at the Soap Awards. Shane Richie is up for 5 awards. Chris recalled how they tried to get him on.

Monday Surgery
Dilemmas - should he drink his 6 pints and then grout his tiles, does she get her husband a curry or get the homemade curry thats been in the fridge for 6 months, what time should they go to bed, what should the man spend £1.94 on at the fruit machine, someone going to the Rocky Horror show wanted to know if she should go dressed as a French Maid, doesnt know what type of spaghetti shape he should buy at the shop.

Daves Tedious Link
Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes Ive Had The Time Of My life - Will might have had the time of his life on Friday but it was Steve Watsons turn yesterday as he hit a hatrick in Evertons 4-0 demolition of hapless Leeds in what is now being dubbed the Roque Horror Show - The Rocky Horror Show stage production recently starred Robbies best mate Jonathon Wilkes - Jonathon Wilkes was once on the books of Everton and would have enjoyed playing against Reids men yesterday - Yesterday all my troubles seem so far away - Far and Away was a film starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman - Nicole Kidman has got curly hair, something she shares in common with Leeds Utd Roque Jnr - Junior Senior are a Scando pop act who had a recent hit with Move Your Feet - Move Your Feet was probably what Peter Reid was saying during yesterdays half time teamtalk - Talk rhymes with Cork - Cork rhymes with York and if you add an E to the city of York you get Yorke which is the surname of Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke - And lo and behold todays tedious link is Radiohead with Creep
