It was the welcome return of Lizzie producing today as Will wasn't in. Chris only thought to mention this at twenty-five past three for some reason. Leeds beat Bolton 3-0 last night so naturally Chris had to play the goals over Never gonna give you up, Things can only get better and Welcome home. Needless to say he was a very very happy man.
A woman from Focus called Helen came in and decorated the studio all Christmassy for them. Aled was worried some of the other members of Radio 1 might nick some of the decorations. Chris liked it but said she'd overdone the tinsel.
For the greatest moments of 2002 they played a load of Will Young clips and teased Lizzie about how much she fancies him. She's still determined to turn him. Will has managed to muck up the food for Friday, he's only catered for 30 people and thats the amount coming from the office. He forgot about the team and the guests. I feel as though Will is Alan Partridge in waiting.
Pete Waterman was today's guest.
- Chris has heard stories that Pete doesn't like them. Pete denied this and said he often listens to the show.
- The cheeky girls nearly didn't get on the show as the production team didn't want to offend anyone. If only they had changed our minds.
- Chris thanked him again for Kylie Minogues bottom.
- Chris tells him that he was responsible for some of the best pop records ever made, but also a lot of the worse. (Reynolds Girls - Id Rather Jack being a good example)
- When Chris was a kid he thought the hit factory was the coolest place ever. According to Pete they made over 1 million pounds a day!
- Chris tells Pete about how little Nicola ('The ginger one') is on the video.
- On Popstars:The Rivals the boys vote was much bigger than the girls. The last boy to go out on the show had more votes than the girl who won.
Chris trawled the fansites for Pete and found a 6 page biography. Chris said it was useless as he only wanted quick facts, not a novel to read. Pete was regarded as one of the first DJ's. He wants Simon Cowell to come back for Pop Idol 2. If Simon refuses, he probably wouldnt do it either. He refused to bet with Dave on the chances of his boy band winning the Xmas number 1. Thats because he knows they wont.
Chris talked about how they had a brief pop career 2 years ago as Ghettolife. The final track was never played on the radio... that is until now. It was mastered on December 14th 2000 and Pete pissed himself laughing though he thought it was a good effort.

Fairytale Of New York - Fairytales are for Children as are bibs - Bibs rhymes with cribs which is where homies live - Homies is short for homeboys - Home and Aways set was burnt recently because of a bush fire - Bush rhymes with mush which is the international signal for lets go when driving a dog sleigh (eh?) - The word slay also means to kill someone with a big sword or something - Sword rhymes with Ford which make the Focus - Focus is very important for your eyes and if you have bad focus then you need some spectacles - Spectacles rhymes with testicles - Testicles come in a bag as does rice - Rice is white as is snow and when you think of snow and snowball fights you immediately think of the video for Last Christmas - Which links us to Wham and Last Christmas.
