Huge congratulations to Chris and the team who last night won gold at the Sony awards for the 'best Breakfast Show', the top accolade in radio. The silver award went to Johnny Vaughn (Capital).

The organisers arranged a surprise for Chris Moyles by inviting the Leeds-born DJ's mother, Vera, to present him with his Breakfast show prize. Moyles has brought a record audience of 7.7 million to his Radio 1 show.

In his acceptance speech Chris was his usual self and asked for a pay rise.

I was there last night, met Chris and the team had my pic with them.

Chris was very funny on stage and Dom and Dave were the friendliest to meet. Chris rushed me although he was stalked by everyone. Saw his girlfriend too who was very pretty. Well done Moyles.
