Radio 1 breakfast show DJ Chris Moyles is locked in a bitter legal dispute.
Moyles, 29, and the BBC are being sued for libel by Andrew Wilkey and his company Das Systems.
The outspoken presenter alleged on air that the firm's product didn't work. It made a self- adhesive plastic cover designed to protect CDs from scratches.
The company went into liquidation in April last year with debts of £351,000.
Mr Wilkey is now claiming damages in excess of £1million after Moyles made his disparaging remarks in 1999.
His lawyers have already won an appeal brought by the BBC that the complaint was out of date.
Mr Wilkey, 56, from Llantwit Major, South Glamorgan, said: I feel Mr Moyles was very reckless and it has cost me a lot of money.
Radio 1 said: It is being dealt with by our lawyers so we can't comment.
A hearing is due at the High Court in London later this year.
