From The Sun.
It's Moyles the merrier
CHRIS MOYLES can relax — the feedback from Bizarre readers about his first day at the helm of the Radio 1 breakfast show glowed more brightly than a bowl of Ready Brek.
Yesterday I printed a school report for you to fill in on his efforts.
Hundreds of people emailed, faxed and sent texts to say he did a super job, with highlights including a chat with VICTORIA BECKHAM plus jokes about BRITNEY SPEARS’ marriage and PINK.
The results of my poll are below. You put the self-styled saviour of Radio 1 top of the class for chat, music, news and comedy.
Where you thought he could do better was not butting in over newsreaders and co-hosts Comedy Dave, Aled and Rachel.
Take note, Chris.
The DJ called me after the show and said he was chuffed with his debut.
He added: I was looking forward to it. I'm happy with the first show.
It was so smooth. We were worried we'd forgotten something. We're all off to the pub now — I think that's the done thing.
Thanks to all of you for letting me know what you thought of Chris's debut. Here is a selection of your comments, good and bad:
It's great to see Chris and the team where they belong — in the premier slot.
DARREN, Colchester, Essex
He came out of the blocks like a bullet from a gun.
IAN, Slough
I don't like it when Chris interrupts the news but the music was great.
MEG, London
I love it. I got out of bed early to listen and we are an hour ahead.
ANDREA, Majorca
The saviour of Radio 1 will be out on his ear by the end of the year. Drivel.
SUSAN, Merseyside
BIZARRE'S VERDICT: A good first show Chris. You sounded a bit nervous but that's hardly surprising.
You had me laughing all the way to work. It was time for a change and you've come in all guns blazing.
Lay off interrupting the poor newsreaders though.
Good luck for at least the next three years.
