Ok, a very interesting idea Badger has gone with here,

Take last week's winning song (Team America World Police - America, * Yeah!) and link to it in at least five steps to another song, which will serve as your choice. However, voting is to be based on the quality of the linking, or the song itself. I think I've got that right :P

So, hope that makes sense, and as ever:
  • To play, post a song from the theme (or year) in this thread with a youtube link if possible. Please be very nice to me and also post the title in the following format: Song Artist - Song Title (this saves me time when making the poll)
  • Do not post a song that has already been chosen, and please try not to change your answer, though if you really want to, you can. Also, only one entry each.
  • 3-5 days after the thread was originally posted, a poll will go up with all the entries (that qualify for the category).
  • For the next 3 days the forum can vote on their favourite option, with one vote each. Voting for your own choice is frowned upon but not disallowed.
  • When the poll closes, the winner will be invited to choose the next category. In the event of a tie the first entrant (who was joint first) to get back to me will be allowed to choose. If the winner does not pick a choice within 4 or 5 days, the runner-up will be asked choose.

Start linking...

The police report to the Home Secretary, a secretary is someone who does a lot of the work usually for a manager or director, one type of director works with actors, examples of actors include Kevin Spacey, David Jason, Morgan Freeman or Tom Hanks, if you swap the last letter of Hanks with a 'y' you get 'hanky', a hanky is something you wipe snot on, snot is a green substance you get from your nose, your nose is a feature of your face, as are your ears. You use ears to listen to sounds and sounds are made with vibrations, vibrations are rapid movements back and forth, Back and Forth is last full series of Blackadder that was made, set in the First World War. If you reverse the letters of 'war' you get 'raw', 'raw' is something you may describe a cut as, a cut is something you might get in a fight and a fight is the impression you get Shane McGowan and Kirsty MacColl are having in Fairytale of New York, which links us to The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl with Fairytale of New York.

PS. Does the person below me have to link to my song or does every song have to link to Team America World Police?

I think so too and consider this payback for Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash... took some effort to link it back to that though.

Fairytale of New York mentions the child-friendly story of a fairytale, one of which is Shrek. Donkey is a character in Shrek who is voiced by Eddie Murphy. Eddie Murphy once performed a controversial and highly successful stand up show called 'Raw.' 'Raw' is a competition in the WWE, which was formerly known as the WWF, which shares a name with the World Wildlife Fund. The logo of the WWF is a picture of a panda, which is a type of bear most commonly found in China, and recently in Scotland. Bear is pronounced the same as 'bare' which links us to the Barenaked Ladies - One Week.

(I'll also mention that I love this idea)

Edit - I didn't fully read Topher's post until after I posted my song, the mention of 'raw' is wholly coincidental. Great minds blah blah.

Team America - World Police was a creation by Trey Parker and Matt Stone who also created South Park. Park Ji Sung plays for Manchester United who have dropped into the Europa League after losing to FC Basel. Basel Brush was famous for having a catchphrase of "Ha ha ha... Boom Boom", and Boom Boom Boom Boom was a hit for the Vengaboys in 1999. 1999 was the name of a hit single by Prince who also did music for the 1989 Batman movie which starred Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton was also the title role in Beetlejuice, a Beetlejuice is also the name of a star in the constellation of Orion. Orion slave girls in Star Trek were painted green and if you think of green in the context of the Chris Moyles show then you might think about Justin Lee Collins singing the Tom Jones classic - The Green Green Grass of Home. Which leads us to...

Tom Jones - The Green, Green Grass of Home.

The Green Green Grass of Home is something that has to be mowed with a lawnmower regularly during the summer months. A lawnmower on a much larger, agricultural scale, might be a combine harvester. If you combine various spirits and liqueurs together you create something called a * which, when found on the back end of a chicken, comprises long, brightly coloured feathers. Feathers are something you will find on a swan and a swan is something you may find on a lake. Swan lake is a famous ballet which has often been performed in Berlin, where you will find Spandau Prison - leading us to the classic 1983 hit (and Baby Yudster's favourite) Gold, by Spandau Ballet.

Spandau Ballet and Gold - Gold is an element that has the atomic number 79 on the periodic table. Table makes up the 1st 5 letters of the word tablet, which is now a common term used to describe a hand held personal computer. Computers are now the best way to access adult material and as such has made the need for drunken purchases of 'top shelf' material a thing of the past and also sees the end of the joys of park porn. Park porn sounds very similar to the word Parkour which is the posh name for stoating about rooftops doing fancy flips and jumps for some form of self gratification. Self gratification is a way in which ones self indulges in a bout of pulling the pudding or tickling the small man in the boat to the point of twitchy eye syndrome kicking in. If self gratification isn't your thing then you could kindly ask someone to perform some form of hibbidy-jibbidy on your personables so as to reach the same conclusion, such as fellatio or cunnilingus thus leading me to - Fall Out Boy and Sugar, we're going down.

A little more risque version of my tedious can be found here Not for the younglings.

Fall Out Boy is named after a character in The Simpsons, The Simpsons is set in the fictional town of Springfield. Another fictional town is the town of Holby where Casualty is set. Casualty is somewhere you would go if you have been injured, like falling out of a tree or being knocked over by a bus. A bus is a big vehicle which transports people, and people is another word for human, which links us nicely too:

It's quite strange that I got to that as I was planning on going somewhere completely different. I guess where the link goes, nobody knows!

Dave would be filling for half of his Tedious bed if his links were that short ;) oddly enough, I don't think I'm capable of writing a Tedious. My head is just filled with Dave's.

The Human league are from Sheffield. Sheffield is famous for being a steel town. Another famous steel town is Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is in the state of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania sounds like Transylvania which is the home of Dracula. Dracula was one of the undead & being undead though medically dead was still able to have sex with living humans. Some humans like to have sex with corpses too. This is called necrophilia which leads us to the festive treat of Jimmy Jangle.

Or if that is too defamatory Alice Cooper's 'I Love the Dead' is in reserve.

I've seen him do this live. Incredible!

Luckily for you, you can't libel the dead. It's still not a very nice thing to say though :)

JImmy Saville was a poor sad old sigleton DJ, who had enojoyed socialising with young people, and often lied about his age. Chris Moyles Superstar DJ has also been 24 for the last 15 years, and as far as we know is still a singleton DJ, who doesn't enjoy socialising with young people, and if John Colshaw is to be believed then he only likes to socialise with people who stroke, his, Ego, and not any other more physical part of his body, If you take the "o" from Body and replace it with an "i" then get the "b" and replace it with a "t" to get Tidy, which is what you ask children to do to there rooms, then you have a good excuse to go into the room and play lets keep it a secret, Secrets have also been a type of chocolate based confectionery popular with Nuns and people who drive Green Alpha Romeo's Romeo's sound like Romeo, and Romeo and Juliet was a great play by the Bard which Rhymes with Hard, but that's irrelevant right now, the Bard William Shakespear was born in Stratford upon Avon, or if he wasn't did show or a play, or a reading or something there or maybe stopped in a B&B there, anyway, they say he's like known from being there, and in Stratford upon Avon is a Square where they have a number of take aways and Pub chains which serves deals like 2 for £12 and All you can for £14.99, children pay less but only if they are small and not too fat, the thing with all you can eat is that it is gernerally self service, and they do not employ waitresses, which leads me to the Waitresses and Christmas Wrapping

Christmas occurs on the 25th December every year, if you replace the letter Y with T you get tear. Teardrop was a song released in 1998 by Massive Attack, Massive Attack comes from Bristol, which is also the home of Justin Lee Collins. Justin Lee Collins shares his sirname with Phil Collins who was the drummer of Genesis, Genesis is the first book of the Holy Bible that features Abraham. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States and was shot by John Wilkes Booth. A ticket booth is where you go to get tickets to the cinema to see a film. Batman Forever was a 1995 film starring Val Kilmer and Jim Carrey as the Riddler and the Riddler is someone who likes to converse in riddles, which leads us to Nik Kershaw & The Riddle!

EDIT: Realised only now I put George Clooney instead of Val Kilmer! So my tedious link wasn't seamless! :(

Bloody hell - I used to know Nik Kershaw back in the early eighties. He wanted to be a rock musician, he never liked the pop stuff he was famous for, he'd rather have been in a metal band. Nice lad but so ickle! He can't have been more than 5'5 on his tiptoes.
