I got my mum The Fray. She's easily pleased with a CD.

I got my sister a massive cookie card thing for her birthday yesterday - that seemed to go down well, so im thinking another one for mothers day would be appropriate!

Mothering sunday is a christian festival tho, it's not one the card shops invented like valentine's day. (or is that a pagan festival? anyone?) not that that doesn't mean they love it as a profit making exercise...

Cheers dangle-foot.

*Bfb runs down to the staff shop with £1.50 hoping it will be enough to buy a card and a stamp........ and that they actually have mother's day cards*

Ok, I maybe phrased it wrong. Card shops don't go nuts at this time of year because they want us to remember a religious do. They do it coz of the money making potential there. Thats why its still celebrated to the extent that it is.

The same goes for Halloween. (And various other dates on the calander, but I'll not mention them for fear of upsetting any religious folks out there)

I won't be getting anything bought for me on Mothers day, but we have a special service at church and I will be given a little bunch of flowers which the children will be given to distribute. Its quite sweet really.

How come your kids won't get you a wee card or some flowers or summit?

It appears that nowadays £1.50 isn't enought to buy even a card.

Still, I managed to purchase one in the end with 50p borrowed from my boss........ oh, and I put the card through the office post stamping machine so I saved on buying a stamp.

Just hope Mamma Ballbag doesn't notice my tightness.

Best moment today: when my brother gave my mum her card with the explanation "I'm sorry, I didn't realise till after I bought it that it's got 'happy birthday' written inside".

My brother is probably the only living example of neanderthal man.

Mmm, I dunno, i've been sat outside Ibrox when the rangers and celtic fans come out.

Im pretty sure a large proportion of them crawled out from under their rocks to go to the match.

Its the way that their hands trail along the ground that amuses me.

I dislike football by the way.

£190? Mothers day? Look, I know its each to their own, but really, thats ridiculous. I mean, if it makes you happy and all that, well whatever I suppose - but no, I still think its ridiculous.
