After reading about the history of Radio 1's chart show, it inspired me to create a poll on who you think has been best at doing this prestigous job in the recent past, up to the time you can remember listening.

None of the above. Moyles 5 years ago, Mills now.

the chart show was a different beast during the heyday of brookes and goodier, during that period there were few who could touch them. A shown a period of time in which internet downloading was an obscure practise. Pacey and smooth delivery were the order of the day.

a chart show would only really work nowdays if it encompassed illegal downloads which of course isn't going to happen so the main course of action is to incorporate high street and download sales into shows which relate to their own particular genres.

Mills does tend to fill in whenever they're off though.

I think Chappers and Dave would certainly be a good show

That's like saying "Who is the best Radio 1 breakfast host ever" and Mills winning it

Alright, alright I wasn't being really serious. I thought Wes was quite a decent fella hosting the chart. Presumably we're basing this on the work on the chart show, and not other work, as he was quite good filling in for Mills and Nemone as well

Bringing back Goodier is the only course of action left to make the Chart show great again

The chart show is now going back to the Goodier format with all but three of the top 40 now being played in full and only a straight countdown of the album chart, I still don't know about JK and Joel and with the new rule that all downloads can count, I'm starting to enjoy it again.
