Bah! I took Scholes off my fantasy team and now I'm kicking myself. He was fabulous last night.

£24million (or thereabouts?) plus Stephen Ireland is great business for James Milner for Villa. Yes, he's good, but not quite worth that much I don't think.

I wasn't happy about Joe Cole's red card on Sunday. It was a foul, but not worthy of a red. That wanker Koscielny came back out for the entire second half after being stretchered off! Bullshit. Felt so sorry for Pepe Reina, such an unfortunate blunder for an otherwise outstanding keeper.

Speaking of outstanding keepers, as much as I despise Manchester City with a passion, Joe Hart is immense. He saved City's greedy, diamond encrusted arseholes against Spurs. As for St. Johnstone, a 1-1 draw against Hearts away from home with 10 men is acceptable. The only way is up!

It was a red card! By the laws of the game is was deemed dangerous. I dont think in anyway Joe Cole went in to hurt Koscielny, but he shouldn't have gone in the way he did to stop a throw in. As for Koscielny, did you see the lump he had on his leg?

It was so bad it stopped him playing yeah? It was a booking yes, a red card was harsh. The referee seemed to think he'd made the wrong decision too, why else would he have sent off Koscielny for such a soft second booking? Only to level the playing field. David Ngog's deliberate handball before that was much more outrageous, as much as I have more new found respect for the wee lad.

i usually try to steer clear of controversy, but THAT is the biggest load of shit that i've heard.

wanker? let me know - what was it that he did to be booed by idiot scousers for the entire second half?

Cole mistimed his challenge, wrapping his legs around Koscielny's knee and bringing him down once the ball had gone. Impact injuries on joints * hurt, so of course he was in pain - and immediate pain, and he had no idea to the extent of his injury. Like wenger said, they were afraid that he may have broken his leg - so why the * would he walk on it? the medics would have said we'll get you off on a stretcher as the second half is seconds away, and it's better than having you potentially making it worse.

Whether it was a red is debatable, it was certainly a poorly timed tackle - i'd have said it's a red, but there's a bias as i'm an arsenal fan.

actually, on reflection - you're right koscielny should at least have had the decency to get up and play on when he gets a potential knee injury in the first game of the season.

nothing to do with the anfield crowd booing him like he'd come along and repossessed their cars?

Hmm. having seen it I thought it looked awful, not deliberate but clumsy and dangerous. I have the misfortune to be married to a qualified referee who tells me that a challenge doesn't have to be malicious, just dangerous - he thought it was a bolt-on red. Personally I'm pissed off about it because Joe Cole is in my fantasy team.

I'll be honest, I'm saying this with some bias. However, I still don't think it was a red, if it was, Wilshere should have been sent off moments earlier too. The booing wasn't necessary, neither was his red card, but I still think the referee wondered if he'd made a mistake.

On the contrary, never happier I didn't include Joe Cole in my fantasy team.

Went to Emirates today, very pleased with the result, I'll be honest I was a little worried seeing as new boys Blackpool beat Wigan 4-0 last week & seeing how we've been going through a rough patch I wasn't 100% confident, however it was a great game, all of the team were on form. Wigan lost 6-0 today, I think this may be their last season in the Premiership (yes I know it's early days yet but my God that's the worst season opening of the Premiership's history, if I was hearing Linekar correctly)

Away win this week, at Rochdale - but we conceded unnecessarily again. We have to stop letting the silly ones in.

Carlisle are currently top, and they come to us on friday. Could be an interesting indicator of where we are overall so far.

This Premiership Season so far is producing quite a few high scoring results in it's opening weeks with Arsenal, Chelsea & Newcastle all winning 6-0 in their games, Chelsea also won 6-0 last week as well with Blackpool winning 4-0. Wigan I think are going to go down this year, it's a shame really as the team always tried their best yet their fans are so few & far between (seeing as a lot of residents support that "real" sport Rugby)

Wigan are the classic example of a team too small to be sustainable in the Prem especially considering all the clubs within an hour (at least 7 Prem clubs alone).

They played better than Villa by the sounds of things. I think it's time I get a glory second team because this season is going to be awful, might go for Man City it has most of Villas decent ex players.

I reckon City might be a bit rocky this season anyway Cat. Remember how it was when Chelsea first had all that money, and the bought in every world class player on the planet, but because they had so many superstars they all got pissed off because they weren't playing every week and everyone seemed a bit tense and no one was getting on? When Jose got there he sorted the squad out to a reasonable level and then they started to perform much better. Anyway, with the players they've bought I reckon there might be a bit of that at City for a season or two before they settle down.

You have to add Man U to that list then as well I'm afraid (seeing as you're going for the top tier teams) :D

Actually add Tottenham as well, biggest scum in the universe :D
