Yeah, I was moaning for a while about Atlantis when they killed off Dr Beckett. But then they brought in a hot doctor, and then cloned Beckett and had him as a guest star. If anything that's even better.

Did they actually cancel it, or are they just finishing it off so they can do what they've done with SG-1 and have the TV movies?

Sci-Fi decided not to renew the series. They found out midway through shooting season 5. They are gonna do some movies and they are thinking of another SG1 movie but production starts on the new Universe show in February. Mixed reports of it so far. General criticism of it is that it seems to be Stargate 90210. I'll keep an open mind though.
