the bbc arent banning their staff writing columns just writing on controversial issues. if they are freelance i dont see there is anything the bbc can do. lets hope mr vitty writes for the evertonian again... although he was hardly controversial.

1. the same column was used word for word last april and not one person bat an eyelid so its strange now to see it being ripped to shreds.
2. surely if his programme gets taken off the air then clarkson should be taken off top gear as well because of his constant racist jibes about the french. or is the french not considered to be in the "politically correct" countries.

I was feeling a bit sorry for him until he went on TV tonight and defended it. Now he should be sacked.

I would have thought Kilroy was freelance, most presenters etc. are.

The BBC are banning all coloums written by staff no matter what the subject is... although I think there is an exception for things like Gardening.

How can they do that? Surely people like Clarkson etc will have contracts with the publications they work for? The BBC are not the mafia.....

Yeah if that's the case then surely the beeb is in a legal quagmire? It would infringe on other contracts with newspapers etc.

I don't know what to think about kilroy although reading this there are some good points on clarkson. He really does slate the french and nobody thinks twice about it at the beeb. I just can't stand some of the stuff he rants on about because it's just such blatant agenda pushing. I think he gets away with it because he couches it in what he thinks is 'humour'. The stand up comedian act that he puts on means people don't take him seriously but you know, i often wonder whether he plots the destruction of the whole of Europe in his spare time. *rolls eyes* I am sure he really is serious in his absolute hatred of all things that aren't....well, basically everything that isn't HIMSELF!

I thin kClarkson should be given a medal. It's nice to see someone saying what he thinks and not giving a toss.....

Is there any evidence to back this claim up?
