Psycho somethign or other but not in the bad way, the good way.

Yep.. I don't think she's been reading Sam's notes.. I think she actually treated him, or something, at one point, and knows all about him, as well as the rest of the team.

I started to watch this but to be honest it looks a bit 'samey' so i've switched over to my PC and put some music on whilst having a look around this site instead.

I might give it another go next week to see if things get a bit better.

I really enjoy Life On Mars and rushed out to get the DVDs as soon as they hit the shops and I have watched them both several times as it was so good.

I think it was a pretty good start.

Loved Life on Mars so I feel a little reluctant to like the 1st episode.

Still funny, Gene is still on form. Not yet sure about DI Drake! The clown hasn't become scary yet!

But over all, I think it will be a good series!

I'm so annoyed I can't watch it.

Thursday is a shit day to put anything on telly. For me anyway. And obviously, I am who the BBC should be thinking of.

He would have said Fandabidurzi but he's not from Leeds so he didn't

So far, I thought Ashes to Ashes was dire, right from the first 5 minutes. It may pick up, |'ll give it a chance, but seriously, somethings are maybe best left at the first series.

I thought it was a bit cliche'd in parts but overall it was entertaining....they left a lot of stuff open to explore...all that stuff about her parents for example.

It did seem a bit lovey dovey as well, I think this may be a slow burner....

I think you're right on that one. I saw a little bit of Jonathan Ross the other night (Friday infact) and Philip Glenister was on the show and they were saying that you will need to watch at least the first two shows before you will really get in to it and start enjoying it more. I shall try and remember to watch the second episode and take it from there...

I was merely saying they tried to cram an awful lot into the first episode some of which just seemed to be for the ethos of the show, the speedboat I felt was entirely uneccesary except for really hammering home that 80's cliche'd cop show feel.

I never said I didn't enjoy it, just that it may take slightly longer to get into than life on mars

Yep, no-one should judge by the first episode, but that was dire. Comedy Dave got it right this morning, I thought, when he actually thought it had been a comedy sketch.

You know, I've been thinking about something, and maybe one of you have the answer.

At the beginning of the new "Ashes to Ashes", I heard Alex Drake mention that Sam had been in a prolonged coma. Yet, she claims to have been treating him. So, how exactly do you treat someone who is in a coma, as they wouldn't be talking? They would be dead to the World.

Is it just me, or is there already a very large flaw here?
#327783
I don't think that Alex was treating him, but was looking into what happened to him. He's meant to have been dead about a year and she's been going over the case file (which is what her daughter was looking at during the first few minutes of the episode.
#327789
Yeh, but how could he have been speaking if he has been in a coma? Where he had been (back in time) would never have been known ... there's a fatal flaw here, and I'm on it.

There was someone called Viv in the show....He's dead now!

It's the end of an era, loved Life on Mars, Ashes was the long encore. Will miss the characters.

What did you guys think of the ending? I loved it. I had a feeling that the young guy that Alex kept seeing was Gene Hunt. Very clever show, loved each episode. Both Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars were very well made and i am glad i have them on DVD to watch again and again. Sad there will be no more tho! I've read somewhere that John Simm and Philip Glennister are making a show together for Sky 1. Cant think what it's called tho. Mad Dogs maybe?

I though it was fantastic & a superb ending to a wonderful 5 years. It wasn't a cliched ending and was well put together, not one cast memeber was weak, especially in the final episode & there was some fantastic moments throughout the last episode. Piecing it all together you now realise why Viv had such a look of fear on his face just before he died, now that we know that Jim Keats was the devil 8O Poor old Viv. I'm really going to miss Gene Hunt & Co, thankfully there will be 40 hours to watch, once Series 3 comes out on DVD :)

Oddly enough nobody I know (apart from my Dad) watches this, their comments range from "I haven't seen it" to "What a load of old bollocks it is", this is all from EastEnders fans by the way
