Top of the Pops !

These I agree with, except Top Of the Pops should be rested like Top Gear was...

also I hear theres a spinoff of Quantum Leap in the works... that along with the planned movies of Knight Rider and Airwolf = 80s revival heaven (IF Done well and not ending up like the films of Starsky and Hutch and Thunderbirds...)

Max Headroom was funny, please forgive me if they are on cable or sky, can't get digital at home and I hate Sky with a passion, having run a pub where they did me for showing it illegally !!!

Robot Wars in it's ORIGINAL format when it had Clarkson presenting. A programme called ROBOTICA in the US resembles this format very closely, but I don't know if they still make it.

I don't remember the Clarkson Robot Wars, but my son owns a piece of one of the robots which made the final of the first series, it was called Tracey, and was a bit of a surprise finalist I think, a sixth form project. And Rex Garrod who invented the SRiMech with Cassius (think that was the name) lives not far from here, and gave us a tour of his workshop once. He was a strange little man, very nice, but strange! Little bit of trivia - Rex Garrod invented, built and operated the little car Brum for the childrens BBC programme. Just thought I'd throw that in, sorry Gaspode.

If Spitting Image hasn't been mentioned then brillaint, I want it back, these pompous yet powerful fools were portrayed as a bunch of chandelier chugging annonyted ones, a bunch of hurrahs. Blair has been lucky to escape such humiliation.

The Word would be more raunchier if it came back, something that has been missing in telly lately, would love it to come back.

basically instead of JUST fighting each other and the house robots, they had different games they could do, like a maze full of hazards, robot football, robot tug-o-war.... the only actual fight was the final round, which is why early Robot Wars had more variety of robot types... and one that was basically a wedge (which was adapted in series 2 to run upside down I think) won the entire first series.

Razer is the big one that I realy remember as being a great non-house bot though :D

Live with Chris Moyles was (and I think Chris might agree with this) a complete failure. It should not be resurected from it's rightful resting place.

I just think the format was too tired, trying too hard to be TGI Friday, which it most definatly wasn't.

In my opinion it was nothing to do with Moyles, but basically because of the format, it was set in the top room of a pub, and was so unbelievably trying to be the new TFI Friday, with the same "I'm in the bar just hanging out with a load of people, everyone over here cheer HOORAY........everyone over there cheer....HOORAY!..... now lets do some silly pub based games, and drop some silly inuendos into every other sentence" Although I believe it was made by Chris Evan's production company anyway which might explain the likeness.

I don't know really, I remember watching about a week of it to give it a try, but I honestly can't remember anything that really happened on it, which I guess says something about it's appeal. I vaguely remember a newspaper review (which I thought was a bit late at 7 in the evening) and something to do with sliding a pint along the bar which I remember not really getting the desired effect, and lots of giggling girls in the audience..... but apart from that not alot.

It was basically a badly organised, designed and produced program........ somewhat cringingly so with c0ck up's left right and center.

That is my opinion anyway.

Oh it was massive................ an 8 at least. (according to the BfB publicity stunt factor index taken from Graph 3.1 *)

Although it was way before the book, so I guess it was publicity for the radio show.

It is....... I'm soon to be publishing the follow-up,

Theories and Practices relating to the Publicity Stuntism of Celebrities 2 - Stunt harder.

It's got more recent case studies in it, Jordan's marriage to Peter Andre, the recent trend of celebrity talent shows, Madonna adopting baby Davey, Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, the boys from S-club7 getting done for dope and Moyles getting a flat tyre.

I've justheard that ITV ballsed up the return of Spitting Image by doing something stupid - making Ant n Dec puppets for the best of compilation which went out a while ago. The creators did not want the new puppets to be made and now theres no way back for SI. If I were to guess I'd say the makers of the original show were angry because Ant n Dec stand for blandness and resemble everything that ITV is today, in its celebrity obsessive scheduling, Spitting Image wasn't designed around that way of thinking. Heres the link anyway http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001 ... 59,00.html
