His team mates and the English media, funnily enough.

I see..........I'm not sure why I'm surprised to be honest, there're people on here from all over Britain, Scotland, East Anglia, the south coast, Wales...... it's hardly a surprise that most of them are Man Utd followers.... ahem, sorry....... fans !!!

Sadly it's just a consequence of being one onf the biggest supported clubs in the world.

It is indeed, although I do think it's a cop-out. But that's just my opinion.

Well I'm just pleased my husband is from Manchester. I'd be in terrible trouble if he was from Liverpool, or Newcastle, or any part of London. At least I get to follow a club worth following. And my real team, Colchester United, have just lost two in a row, so I need something to smile about.

Cant wait for the Celtic match tomorrow night, Celtic have a good home record against big teams in the Champions League and Man U's away form is appaling. That said, Man U should win it but I have a feeling that Fergie will have one eye on the Chelsea game and might opt for another comedy team selection i.e O'Shea in midfield and Fletcher out wide.

And Bag for Ladies sanitary products, the thread "who is the sexiest bird in Neighbours" is about Neigbours the cerialised soap opera on Daytime Television originating from Australia that people with jobs don't watch, day time jobs, not insinuating if you watch it and your say on a night shift that your enjoyment of said program is in any way refelctive of a negative attitude to your chosen profession and it's associated demands on your time, you may well be a doctor, or nurse or fireman and as such your nightime working patterns are for the greater good of all mankind.

Interesting criteria for team selection, but to each their own.

Roght-o I've just read the whole thread and now feel informed enought to join in in the future from time to time.

My summaries are thus.

This thread should be renamed the Man Utd supporters thread.
Man Utd fans do get a little tetchy when asked who they support and why.
Yudmeister your knowledge of the beautiful game is excellent, as is yours kendra (given that your lot play with funny shaped balls).
Re: the captain of England debate though, and especially Gary Neville, I agree he has many of the qualities needed to be the top dog, except one thing........ longevity. He's probably got 3-4 seasons in him max.
Glad to see thought that there seems to be a general air of dislike towards Chelsea in here.

Brighton and Hove Albion......... if it's good enough for Des, then it's good enough for me. Oh and it was my nearest team during my childhood.

Well done Flower, and there's loads more info on the Seagulls website if you look harder.

So Fowlmiest, if you don't mind me asking why did you choose Man Utd as your team to follow, given that you'd decided to abort Ipswich due to the runnings of the club.

1)No I don't!
2)Why thank you sir. I have always enjoyed competetive sport, both as a spectator and participant.

May I ask the fella from Fife and the Bournemouth dude why they settled on Man Utd as a team to follow, unless of course they are ex-pats of said Manchester?

Oh I didn't know there was another one, I shall search it out, I've only read this one.

Good use of the phrase "like a broken record" twice in the same thread Mafro.

Hmm, I can't seem to find last year's footy thread as you described, I don't supposed you mind playing that broken record one more time and humouring me?

Unless of cours you can point me in the direction of said thread.
