Annoying me today? The inevitable hangover that followed drinking on a 'school night'... :/

You're just not conditioned yet. Put the practice in and you'll see the benefits.
Last night = 4 pints of Fosters in the local drinking establishment then had 3 cans of Stella in the house watching Aliens again (I'm so sad. I really should go to bed with my wife but then I might need to talk to her or do 'other stuff')
Up at 6:45 this morning, an Irn Bru for breakfast and I'm feeling tickety-boo.

Has anyone else noticed an influx of 'influential celeb twitter accounts' suddenly using instagram to post photos to twitter?

I think their takeover may bring a nasty edge to their tactics.

Hmm. I don't follow Jayne, but I do Chris. What are you thinking, they're being paid to plug instagram?

Not paid (as there are courtesies that celebs need to use when being paid to plug things on twitter in the nature of full marketing disclosure, such as adding #spon), but certainly incentivised.

Perhaps a bit of wining and dining, or some gifts?

Maybe! I must just not follow many people who have started using instagram recently, cos it hadn't occured to me. Just Chris and Dave. The other celebs I follow who use it - Kat Von D, Nick Grimshaw - have been doing for ages.

Impressive. I used to be better at it but I've had a bit of time off doing things like this.

Saying that, I've had a Lucozade in the office and I'm feeling a bit better but my downfall was there were no real ales on that I liked so I went with Fosters. 4 pints at the pub and 2 cans of it at home led to me not wanting to move this morning!

Going to bed at 3.45am and getting up at 8.45 probably didn't help either...

Grrr...Instagram - using today's technology to make photos look like they were taken twenty years ago. Pointless shite.

ANYWAY. Spotify, or rather my inability to not tinker with stuff, I lost ALL the tracks I had on my phone and couldn't get the pc to copy them back across. This required me to spend a couple of hours meticulously rebuilding playlists (and also deleting Glee albums because, let's face it, that got shit after 5 episodes).

I'm sorry, but I maintain that everyone looks sexier with an instagram filter. I like it.

Not all instagram filters are old timey. They do enhance colours, dim focus and correct for the bad lighting that's in most pictures - as well for allowing to crop out stuff that you didn't mean to be in the photo. for me, it improves pictures. It's a mini photoshop more than anything - food looks so much better through an instagram filter.

I am mainly basing my opinion on seeing the worthless stuff that's ejaculated over the internet by millions of users. And I maintain that a decently composed and taken photo doesn't NEED any of this post production stuff spaffed all over it.

Layabout Yudster (who is now a moderately successful freelance photographer) would completely agree - he always says he wants to get his picture as he wants it in camera. Doesn't preclude a being able to create multitude of moods, effects and impressions, but doing it with the camera rather than additional software is purer.

I love my new camera.

I don't get this whole Instagram thing, I haven't even installed it on my phone, however I did install "Camera HD" which makes my pictures look lovely and fake:

Filter apps are essentially for mobile use, and all photographers would agree that you'd have to be very skilled to get a nice looking photo from a mobile (en masse, that is - some phones are going to be ridiculous in the near future). The instagram/hipstagram/camera+/facebook camers etc. is a way of turning photos which are organic & spontaneous (and taken by 'normo's' who don't have any skills when it comes to photography) and making them a little bit prettier.

It's not to replace real photography, just to make non-photographers feel like they're making something pretty. Not everyone has a lovely camera, and not everyone has it with them at a time where a nice moment may randomly appear :)

A very good way of putting it! Having said that, I have a friend with a DSLR who bought it just because it was a DSLR, but has no idea how to use it properly, and I think it spends most of its time on the Auto mode!

Is Glee still going or did they cancel it?

I did try to tell him this yesterday. He admitted to being a grumpy old git. :)

I like landscape photography myself. Gives me time to mess about with the different controls on my camera. I have a dslr which I go out with on a semi regular basis but when it comes to my neices and nephew it's sport mode all the way. Well, unless they pose which they do more often as they get used to the fact I always have my camera out when they come round. :-) My youngest neice is'nt even a year yet but she smiles at the camera when she sees it. I swear she won't know what my face looks like the amount of times I point the camera at her.
It's a hobbie I like doing (Hence a hobbie I guess  ).

Annoying me today? All these "trending videos" and stuff on Facebook, that when you click them, you need to authorise an app to access your account.

Er, no thanks.

Not in until 12:00 when they have a deadline? I'd be embarrassed to ask if it was me.

My point entirely missus, thank you. The excuse given was going to doctors, which is fine if your leg is hanging off, but it was for 'the sniffles' - was told it was just hayfever - which the person knows that they have already.... Yet this is fine for a noon arrival on deadline day. *.
