July. That would put you lot in line with me in terms of completed mounths. Trouble is internet archive is being a proper pain in the arse about it. I spent an hour last night uploading them only for it to go tits-up and fail on me.

Thanks! You can see the rest of my white water rafting photos here if you're interested (which you may well not be).

I was! Nice! Few things:

I recognise Zoot there, yeah?

You seem to have a girl at a Stag do (no offence if that is a chap)??

Is that you with the Yellow Helmut?!

Love the difference in facial expressions from person to person - some clealy loving it, some clearly pooing it!

Also love the 'nose under' pics and the capsize sequences.

Very nice Chris.

Yep.

Haha - charlalottie said the same, that is my cousin Toby! He's very nice but a bit odd.

Indeed, they made me wear it to stand out.

I'm pulling some right funny faces (they caught that moment when I've just come out of the water and getting my breath... a couple of times they did that). I loved every minute and want to go again.

Yeah, seeing those pics brought back memories and wet the appetite (pun intended) to do it again. Soon.

It's whet the appetite. Different word.

I think you need to write to your local tax office with originals (not copies) of your payslips and P60. Be warned though, they probably won't do it til the end of the tax year, so next April. And it will take a dog's age.

Hmm, it appears that I've been paying £80.20 more than I should be paying (£153.92 p/m) since I've started (10 months ago). This displeases me.

edit. It's not a NIC issue. They've had me on emergency tax since I've been here, meaning I've actually been paying £169.67 MORE in income tax than I should have been, for the last 9 and a half months. FFS.

Question: do other people have an issue with the phrase "a bit special"? I keep seeing it and it's really irritating me. Surely something should be either special or not special? Is this me being overly picky?

Wondered what you'd been paying Nic for just then. I've always been rubbish with finance.

I think a bit special has a nice ring to it, better than just saying 'special'.

How on earth did you not notice from your payslips that your taxcode was the emergency one?!

This is my first proper job, and I don't really pay much attention to my payslips. I thought it was a bit high, but did the maths and it said 20% was being taken off. I had no idea about the intricacies of tax, and assumed that the company had got it right, I was very wrong. Ah well, at least I get more every month now - and I'll get a big cheque from the tax man.

I was going to say - given the result, I'd say this is the wrong thread for it!

You will. Sadly, probably not for a year. But it'll be a nice surprise when it arrives!

Aaaaaaaaaarggggggggggggggghhhh.

I broke my fancy-pants car stereo last night - or more specifically I broke the USB socket so can no longer load up a 2GB Thumbnail-stick and plug n play...! Whacked it when trying to retrieve work laptop from the rear seat. Really, really annoyed about it.

Sure, the radio still works, but Chris only broadcasts 3.5 hrs a day so how does that help for the drive home etc. Whats that you say? Dust of the CD collection and play them? P-lease... CD's? Get with the 90's sister.

Load them onto an mp3 player and use a radio transmitter?

I knocked my HDMI cable this morning and completely tore one of the plugs out. I'm beyond furious with myself.

Exactly this! Sorry Andy, but good to know someome else is sharing my pain....

Its not the £ to replace it, it the ruddy inconvenience. Let myself down, baaaaaad.

I need the cable for this weekend, so I'm going to have to use the xbox one - but the one which I broke was 3 meters long. The xbox one is barely 1m :(

If you drive home between 5 and 7, you should give Simon Mayo a go - he's brilliant AND the music is (generally) good, though today is all request Friday, so it can be hit and miss - still better than the Radio 1 plebs requesting though.
