I always think of it as a circle lottie rather than a line.

If you put Communism and fascism at the top on the circle with communism on the left and fascism on the right, then as you go down the left side at 9 Oclock you have Socialism and at 6 oclock Liberalism then down from the right you have at 3 Oclock Capitalism.

50 years ago as a country the Labour Party, The Liberals and the conservatives were all pretty much at 3, 6 and 9, today however, they all vie for the space between Half five and Half six.

The main thing that changes I think really is your view on where government should be exercised, the right wing favour the individual, the left wing the collective. This can be seen from views on taxation and legislation.

Left wing is Robin Hood, Right wing is the Sheriff.
