Did any of you get anything unwanted for Xmas pressies? I think my most annoying gift was a pink squidgy cushion. It actually looks like a very large penis.

I usually just make do with a pillow, or something, rather than cushions.

Still, it may make a good punchbag.

I got a fluffy hot water bottle cover which was lovely...except I already bought myself the exact same one. I managed to exchange it for a t shirt so it wasn't too bad in the end. I also got a makeup set of colours I would never wear (pink nail varnish and red lip gloss!) which I just left at my mother's for her to re-gift to someone. So I didn't do too badly.

pink nail varnish is a bit fluffy and boring. I wouldn't have wanted that either somehow!!

People often seem to get presents for others people that they would actually like to have themselves, rather than getting a present for the person they are buying for. I used to get this a lot, and it's taken a few years to persuade them that if they don't know me well enough to get something I'd like, they shouldn't be getting me a gift at all! As a result, I get fewer pressies, but no crap.

I got some brilliant stuff, but I wouldn't call getting unwanted things a "horror". Worse things have happened at sea.

True enough, if an crap pressie counts as a horror, you must be doing very well I reckon.

Actually I just heard from someone whose "boyfriend" gave her an STD this Christmas - thats a pretty horrific present.

I mentioned a while back to the ball bag clan that I could do with some new socks..... I also mentioned that last year I didn't actually get any, which is unheard of. Both statements were a big mistake.

I received in total 24 pair of socks this year.

Are we to assume that 'it' wasn't wrapped then?

I could have done with some socks actually. But I dunno if I would trust anyone else to choose them for me. I'm very particular about my socks. Same with underwear.

I don't want my iTunes gift card anymore. As I can't appear to use it.

Is there a "contact us" page on the website? A customer services email address? If so, I would drop them a line before you give up completely. My son has an iTunes account and he hasn't got a credit card. He hasn't got any money either, but that's besides the point.

Bravo, Console. That was quite clever.

Yuds, iTunes' customer service is non-existent. They send you back some random, crap reply that could go with any question you happen to ask. "Will a meteor hit the planet today?" would get the same response as "Why the hell is your website saying this gift card has been used when it hasn't?"
