I had heard she was going to be in them 'in a much larger capacity', but hopefully she won't be in it a lot, because I didn't think she was that good in the last Christmas special. There's also supposed to be two assistants next year.

it has been confirmed that cathy tate will be the full time assistant (all 13 eps) and freema wotsit will rejoin the series at a halfway point whilst apearing in 3 torchwood episodes

See I don't see why people are so angry about this. It's bringing back a past character to be an assistant, what's the big deal. I happened to think she was quite good in The Runaway Bride, and see no reason why she shouldn't be an assistant.

The one on Sat night was good. The one a couple of weeks ago with the statues was terrifying.

I like the theme tune. Ask Cat.

I'm enjoying Dr. Who. I didn't like David Tennant in other stuff, but have enjoyed him in Dr. Who. I haven't liked John Simm in it, as I don't feel he was suited to the part he was playing. I'm not exactly looking forward to Kylie being in it either, as I feel it will be kind of a repitition of the role she played with Jean Claude Van Damme years ago. :-(

That awful Street Fighter movie? I doubt it will be like that.

Yep, that's the one I'm referring to! couldn't remember the name! thanx for providing it!! I don't feel Kylie (like Madonna) transfers well from music to the screen, that's what I was really getting at :-)

I hope they do a hilarious christmas themed September 11th episode in a few years, since the Titanic was one of the biggest nautical disasters of all time and they don't seem to have any trouble making light of that

Should we also condemn Rowan Atkinson, Richard Curtis and Ben Elton for doing Blackadder Goes Forth? A hell of a lot more people died in that than on the RMS Titanic, and it was more recent too.

No, because as you well know they explored both emotional sides of the conflict especially in the last episode.

If they deal with the episode tastefully in a similar way Blackadder did then I will happily retract my statement, but the point still remains, why not do a September 11th special - both are tragic events, the only real difference is time scale which some people (not saying anyone on here or the writers of Doctor Who) seem to conveniently forget when it comes to the Titanic

I quite liked Catherine Tate in the Runaway Bride, so I'm not in the slightest purturbed by her being the full-time companion. I thought Billie was fantastic, I thought Freema was fantastic. If they all came back in the future I'd be quite pleased. Of course, David Tennant is gorgeous and as long as he's in it, that's the main thing.

I think that the runaway bride wasn't the best of episodes, but cathrine tate was good in it...I'm still unsure bout Kylie but we shall see...and I agree with CapriGirl, Davd Tennant is gorgeous! :D
