He went postal over the fact a lot of his sound clips on his computer got deleted. Aled seemed a bit angry also.

I can understand being a little bit upset but I thought he went a little OTT over it, It might of been necessary to have them deleted due to memory, I mean having so many clips save over the years it would eventually need to slimed down for space. I dont think this type of act is done lightly and not just to piss him off. Just acceped it and move on, I'm sure he will collect more over the next few months to replace the older ones!!!

I think he had a fair point. Yes, he went OTT but that was just for entertainment value. The jingles are some of the tools of his trade and he is bound to be pissed off when they arent there or are messed with when he goes to use them, seemingly without explanation.

I think the Germans are the ones who manage the hard drive space usually. Regardless if someone at Radio 1 or elsewhere, what was removed seemed random, not all from the same date. I feel they were right to be irked. What if those were going to be used again soon for a bit or used later? Poor Shepherds Pie. Aled has to get his dad in and record a new one. Now they have to find out who it is and delete some files off that person's laptop. Tit for tat. By the way, what is tat and how do I exchange it for tit?

I think he had a very good point - if we deleted people's work-related files here without ANY prior notice whatsoever, we would rightly be in the shit. The rant was hilarious too.

OTT would have been smashing Fearne Cotton's face in at 10am since it was her voice on the tampered Two Word Tango sound clip. Having a long on-air moan about things being tampered with for on-air sounds was good entertainment and he was spot on.

Will be listening to Wednesday's show sometime in the next week or so but does anyone know how far into the show the rant was because a Moyles rant to me is always entertaining. I would be annoyed big time if stuff I did got deleted by someone else without any notice beforehand.

I think he had a good point as well, it happened to me once a few years back at work, I was off for a few days & when I came back someone had decided to throw away a load of paperwork as they thought it was rubbish even though it was on my own desk. It wouldn't have been so bad if they had asked him but to delete it without notification is bloody rude.

It was a pretty good rant, but it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
As soon as someone txt in 'Just have a glass of wine' he got over it.

But I would say the rant was perfectly justified, if someone deleted your files off a cart system without asking, no matter how many you have you would be pissed off as it affects the show.
Also someone had recorded over two word tango due to no knowing what they were doing, that had nothing to do with the file deletion.

Though I find it hard to believe they didn't keep an original copy of the clips in their show folder.Especially the Paul Turner voiceovers and Aled's dad ones, which wouldn't have just been clipped straight from original show audio and uploaded to the cart wall like some of the other stuff that was lost.

the only bit about this which surprises me is the fact that the Beeb (or whoever they Sub it too) doesn't have a multitude of external hard drives with all this jazz saved forever. I know Stinton and Nic have terabyte's of Moyles data - why should any be lost, ever...?

I agree. The fact that they didn't have a comprehensive and reasonably readily available backup was crazy. I was actually thinking as I was listening that they could just download the Tango music from this site...

Hearing it again, I actually think Chris was quite reserved.... If that'd happened to me at my work there would have been a large dose of windmillin' going on... Chris is right, amazingly inept and an embarrassment for the Beeb - piss poor performance.
