I'm surprised there hasn't been any talk about the new series of Big Brother on the show considering what a massive fan Aled and to a lesser extent Chris is of the show.Would any of you like there to be more references to it .I think its been a pretty entertaining series so far and is bringing in pretty good ratings for Channel 5 by all accounts.

No. I'm very glad that they never mention it. I've never watched it (or any reality TV) and don't want them to talk about something that means nothing to me!

I'm amazed anyone even cares. It died last year - they gave it it's own gravestone and everything. It was very final.

People will hate the show here but the simple fact is it's dead, like Neighbours, so no need to.

'Get the bread!' That will only mean something to people who have been watching CBB.

Slightly off topic, but what was Chris doing bigging up the awful 'Red or Black' this morning? I'm usually a big Ant and Dec fan, so watched two episodes of this show even though I'm not a gameshow fan. But there's no escaping the fact that the show is dull, overly long, and is really just another big cash cow for Cowell and a week long promotion opportunity for a whole load of his crappy 'artists'. The usual ITV dross basically. I definitely get the impression that's been the general concensus in the press and elsewhere (just from talking to people about it), and the ratings have already dropped a good bit since the first episode too, so I was really surprised by what Chris said today. It seems he's a lone fan of it for some unknown reason.

I always thought unless it was a guest that had come on the show to plug a TV show of theirs the team only seem to talk about it if they've been actually watching it.

Channel 5 have scraped the bottom of the barrel at the bottom of the barrel for this one, it isn't worth the time or effort it takes to watch it. You can't even call it celebrity BB when the most famous people there are Jedward. Eugh.

This whole 'Who wants to give a thug a million quid' thing is (naturally) annoying but somehow smugly satisfying cos it's Cowell's show. Shows a flop and aimed at idiots, it's been a good year for those scraping the barrel getting egg on their face, Murdoch et al. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of *!

To add balance.. Just seen a Guardian poll saying he should keep it, so there you go!

I can't see what the fuss is about with this ex con winning the money. Why can't people with criminal records enter competitions and therefore potentially win them? Where is it written that every winner of a large sum of money must be a nice person?

Well, I don't watch it and I didn't know that Jedward were in it, but I would venture that the only person I DO know to be in it is more famous than Jedward and that's Sally Bercow.

Hi All,

my first post here so please be nice, just a quick note about figures

on saturday
Jonathan Ross had 3.9 million viewers
Red and Black had 7.8 million viewers but loss 2million viewers on show 2, meaning it still has 1.9million more viewers on a week night than jonathan ross on a saturday evening.

And just imagine if Jonathan Ross hadn't been on the CM Show i wont just how high his figures would of been.

so me thinks Chris's comments about Red and Black are warrented (even though i havent actually watched any my self - for me it has the same appeal as the million pound drop :-( )

anyway still love the CM Show and the random comments he says about this site (which i why i signed up )

so Hi everyone and its nice to meet you all :-)

All the best

At least the Million Pound Drop requires some semblance of knowledge or logic. This Red and Black thing is based purely on luck.

I've never seen it, but a lot of people seem to be talking about it on twitter and the like, so they're probably pretty pleased with the amount of publicity it's generated.

Red & Black to me is You Bet! Remember that show? Well, it might not be exactly like it but some people do challenges similar to ones on that show and one side or another wins depending on what colour they are. But this is from someone who only watched like a couple of mins of the show.

Moyles has got it right, a share of (DJ voice) A THOUSAND POUNDS! - Is about right, anything more and the show becomes about the money, then theres the whole lefty moral debate which is bound to be had at some stage about the 'coolness' of gambling and whatnot.

No, in You Bet you had to make a decision based on whether you thought someone would succeed or not - this is PURELY luck.

As Topher has said, You Bet had "experts" in certain random things, like recognising a horse by it's hoofs or something. I guess the comparison is that the "celebs" simply said yes or no when asked if the expert would succeed.

Whereas Red and Black, to me looks like a bunch of morons picking one of two colours. I only vaugely watched bits of the first night. Never watched it again.
