The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

gives the programme a unique selling point in a congested marketplace, whilst bringing variety to the masses and educating them about subjects which they wouldn't ordinarily interact with. combining this with a mild sense of humour keeps the audience smiling, whilst the new material expands their horizons.

Who has replaced Chiles? If that awful gurning Bleakley (and I refuse to pander to her pretension and call her "Blakeley", its clearly Bleakley) with a dentist who seems to think that Bigger is Better in the teeth-capping department would leave too I might consider watching it, but it really is a terrible programme.

Well I like Jason Manford too, but I have to say my opinion of him has received a big dent with this piece of news.

Because the One Show is so awful - I'm disappointed that he has - I think - lowered himself to it.

I watched this for the first time since Adrian left as Miranda Hart was on it. What was mentioned ?? .....Bleakley bloody skiing .....

For crying out loud that was ages ago

Looks like the hatred for Chris Evans has made them change their minds !!

foot-loose wrote:I don't really watch it, but isn't it just a sorta magazine show? I'm sure he'll be getting paid a pretty sum and it opens him up to a whole different demographic.

All true (although as a magazine show its "Chat" magazine as opposed to anything interesting) but as a "consumer" why do I care about his demographic target, or how much he gets paid? I'm just mildly disappointed that he seems so ready to downgrade himself to the lowest common denominator so early in his career. Its not a big deal, I just found it surprising that The One Show is apparently how he sees himself. I'm sure he's still funny!

She will be doing GMTV with Childs from September apparently.

Personally I can not see anything to dislike about the show, it is suitable for the family to watch and is really only half an hour of "and finally" which I always enjoy anyway.

The presenters are ok, the "specialists" are as funny as they are poor, Dom & Snow Jnr are the exceptions, the butch woman / Lesbian is my favorite for "face for Radio" catagory, whilst "tuffers" and Giles "I am the real Steven Fry" Brandrith should really stay in Bed.

Yudster is clearly having a bad day and hates everything even remotely popular, SNOB!!!!!

Everyones allowed a down day Bob. But, in reference to Christine Bleeeekley, and to use a phrase which over simplifies the emotional attachment involved..... "She'd get it".

I duno. I like custard creams, they're popular aren't they? And unlike the One Show, they serve a useful purpose too.

Of course. Post ironic confectionary is the future. Or the past. Or something.
