Anyone else hear Chris Evans' drivetime Radio 2 show today?

He also had the Ting Tings on doing live tracks and sadly made a couple of diggs at the Moyles show, implying the show was off the cuff and lacked production!

I was dissapointed by this as I really like Evans' show, though having read Moyles' books I know there is a little history!

And for the record, it's the off the cuff nature of Chris M. and team that brings me back day after day!

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Chris Evans was good in his hey-day. But I watched his comeback TV show thing and it was rubbish. He was doing the same stuff he was doing 10 years ago. He's not really updated his style which is still heavily formatted.

IIRC, didn't they have a fall out over the Channel 5 show?

On one of the Podcasts Moyles says something along the line of "I haven't spoke to him (Evans) in a while, mainly because he's an idiot", it's the one where Louis Walsh keeps mentioning Moyles on Evans Radio 2 show

Yep, Moyles talks about it in his book. Basically he didn't think the Chris Moyles TV Show format was what he wanted, so he told Evans about it. Evans proceeded to blank him in the future, then eventually dropped the show! He still blanks Moyles whenever he sees him.

That's a bit sh*tty really, he should have listened to Moyles' ideas at least, especially seeing as Live with Christian O'Connell flopped even bigger. I rather liked Live with Chris Moyles, although it should have been an hour long, and on Channel 4, it probably would have done quite well on there. Half hour is not long enough for that type of show.

I wonder if Chris M. will address this in the morning. It's a tricky one as I think Moyles still holds Evans in good regard and also wouldn't want to start 'another' BBC story for the tabloids. That said...

Moyles will probably drop a little sarky comment in somewhere but probably won't make a big thing of it, then again...

I still like Evans' show, regardless of what they think of each other. It provides a welcome relief from Mills' show.

I tend to listen to Geoff Lloyd on Absolute myself. I think he's great at what he does. And he's Ginger and wears glasses. Maybe it's a drive time thing.

From what I believe, isn't Geoff Lloyd the only good DJ left on Virgin, sorry, Absolute Radio these days?

Yup. I doubt he'd move either. Can't see anyone else letting him get away with "Drunk Vs Stoned".

Oh sorry for the double post but my guilty pleasure is Kisstory at 7pm on a Sunday. It's like Dance Anthems only they play good songs and songs that are more than a year old. Real head scratcher songs. So many times I'm in the car going "Oh shot what is this. I used to dance to this and everything!"

Drivetime radio is solidly Chris Evans. It would probably be pretty much anyone onther than Scott Mills to be honest, but the Evans show is very good. If it was head to head between Moyles and Evans though I would listen to Moyles, I like the unstructured approach and the lack of pre-arranged features. And the lack of pre-arrangement IN the features.

I agree with all of what Yudwuk says. In addition to that, Zane Lowe is worth a listen for an hour until Radcliffe and Maconie are on - then it's their show till 10, which is when Colin Murray starts.

A cracking evening's radio.

Yes and compared to the shows of late 2000-2002 although he is still unstructured he's less so compared to back then. Remember how many features would pop up & then suddenly dissapear, Including: Dizzie Lizzie, Bang Will's Head Against The Studio Window, Who Want's To Be A Music Square, Who Want's To Be A Horse Or Mare, etc.

Geoff Lloyd was my childhood dentist, I'd be shocked to discover that he's moonlighting as a DJ...

Bloody good dentist though.

Anyone remember and like Moonlighting?

With Cybil Shepard. It was great. And that other guy but not much became of him.
