The past couple of times I have been on here, I have decided to "hide" (just to see how it would feel).

Anyhow, all appeared to be well... can't see my name at the bottom of the screen, then I go out to the main section (before a person enters the forum), and lo and behold..! There's my name on the screen, which kind of defeats the purpose to a person being hidden. Other hidden members are also bizarrely not showing.

Where is your name on the screen? If it's near the top on the right-hand side, where it says "Logout [ Vivienne ]"?

Vivages... in your control panel, there should be a button about appearing offline or something like that. Try clicking that and seeing if it sorts out whatever the problem is.

I can vouch for what Viv is saying here - she was on the forum earlier, hidden as far as the index page was concerned, yet on the home page she appeared listed as being in the forum. She was listed in the chatroom too, so it wasn't a case of seeing her name there and thinking it was the forum, it was listed in both sections.

It was showing because she was only hidden for a single session, which the front page script wasn't checking - it's going to be patched soon (if anyone is that worried about it).

Viv is the one to ask a definitive translation, but I think this actually means "He is no a rat or ass" And "rat or ass" is in English, so how that fits into the translation I have no idea. I think it should be more along the lines of " Ce n'est pas une *rat* ou un ane". Although "ane" is technically a donkey, and I have probably spelled it wrong - and I can't remember the French for rat. I know mouse is "un(e?) souris" - will that do?

I've noticed something else quite recently! Even though people go to log on with "hidden status", just for a few brief seconds you can actually see them at the bottom of the screen. You have to be quick though. You would think being "hidden" would mean it kicks in straight away, but actually it doesn't!!
