What did you think of Kelly O / Osborne (whatever!) with Moyles yesterday?

I noted on this morning's show that she was given quite high scores by "The Gang". Personally, however, from a listener point of view, I found her to be one of the worst guests I have EVER heard on R1.

What has happened to the Kelly of old? She came across as petulant; and, at times, a total embarassment. Cuddly Moyles seemed reluctant to ask her about her new TV show, which she was clearly desperate to promote, and the awkward silences coming from the Studio were cringeworthy.

I thought Lily Allen was bad some time back, but this was downright ridiculous.

0 out of 10 from me. :-(

What is her new TV show? They spoke about it a little yesterday, but if they did explain what it was then I missed it.

As for 'Kelly O', I didn't think she was a particularly interesting or entertaining guest.

Yep, I thought she was a bloody disgrace! Her new TV show is on SKY and has something to do with catwalk models!

I only heard a bit as was working, but I agree. HAs she flown through the bermuda triangle and her sense of humour has gone missing without a trace? :?

I got that much from the title (the title is 'Project Catwalk', isn't it?), but I have no idea what it's actually about. That said, it's very unlikely I would watch it even if I did have a full understanding of it.

It will clearly be about making it in the modelling world, I should have thought. Rev up some brain cells, Console.

I've never liked her, so I wasn't surprised that the interview was a disappointment really.

I heard a bit of the Sunday Surgery for the first time since she's been doing it last week and some guy rang up because he had psoriasis and did they know of anything that may help; she mentioned some weird treatment you can get in Europe, which Dr Mark Whatsisname and the other woman (they have two experts now?) said rather hurriedly "er, well, that sounds a bit expensive" and then gave some proper advice.

Bring back Emma B.

Damn the fact this is being discussed. I hadn't really put much about it in my thread, because I didn't think she was deserving of the publicity.

No, its not - its about designers. And its not a new show, its the third series (Kelly's second, Liz Hurley presented the first series).

It might just be me, but I find it quite difficult to listen to Chris constantly flirting with a guest, especially if they are obviously not up for it. When it is someone who gets the joke then thats fine, but Kelly said several times (and sounded serious) that she didn't like the way the interview was going. I suppose the way it comes across on the air might be different than the way it feels in the studio - she could be complaining to Chris with a big grin on her face and just acting upset, but I don't think that is the case somehow.

By the end of the interview, it seemed to have been sorted and it sounded better (although I didnt hear the whole thing). My point is - it should be obvious from early on whither or not a guest is gonna do the flirting thing with Chris, so if it doesn't work - maybe he should drop it and just get on with chatting. He is good at it and most of the time, when an interview doesn't work, it's because of the guest not understanding what is going on. Don't get me wrong - when it works, it works well: Davina and Patsy Kensit are two good examples.

Plus we all know he will never cheat on Sophie.

Oh and FAO Aled: I'm saying this as constructive critisism, NOT Moyles bashing!

That's a good point, foots! But my impression was she was just totally "up herself" in general.

The flirting Moyles did on Monday with the Emmerdale farm gal was clearly not welcome, however.

I disagree - I have heard Kelly on the Sunday show that she does a few time plus with the interview yesterday. I'd say that she has her own beliefs about things and she sticks to them. She is quite head strong, but that's not really a bad thing. Just because she didn't want to entertain Chris's advances, I don't think that means she is up herself.

What made you think she was?

Well, Chris did say she was smiling, foots! But it was not the impression I had out here in listener land!! She said she felt "hate building up", or something like that (it didn't sound like a joke). And also, she said something about people going to boring jobs while SHE was on the Radio! Well, I'll tell you, foots, from yesterday's stuff, I'd rather be going to a boring job as be her!!

Mmm, just because she reacted to the way Chris was flirting by not smiling and by saying that she had 'hate building up' you think that she is 'up herself'? This was after she had made a few attempts to change the subject?

Personally, I thought she handled it pretty well and lightened up when the converation changed!

The reaction to someone working in a boring job was a reaction to an abusive text that had come it. She is right - working on Radio One IS going to be more interesting than the majority of other jobs out there!

Shes all change cos she got a few fingers in pies, got her own show which she loves doing which is fair enough. A lot more giggly in the interview from last year, and that got clipped. I don't think Moyles took a much different approach with her then either, only difference this time is she was mardy.

I'm sorry! I gotta disagree, foots! I had the impression she was just in in a mood! And I found some of her conversation slightly distasteful first thing in the morning, which is why Rachel said, "you have think about conversation". Good point. Foots, I just thought she was all too anxious to discuss her new TV show, and Moyles just wasn't getting to it fast enough for her.

Totally agree! Saviour! (above) .. bang on the button!!

Fair enough, but it's partly up to the interviewer to react to how the guest is.

Fair enough. Although I felt that when she shouted about the TV show it was because Moyles had returned to flirting with her and she was trying to change the subject.

If anything, I thought Moyles showed remarkable restraint at not throwing her out! Which is what I would have done!! But then, I guess Moyles is well used to dealing with the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in-between.

From what I heard he was enjoying himself hugely, why would he want to throw her out?

I agree it wasn't a great interview, but I like Kelly Osbourne, she's honest, straightforward and very funny.

I like Kelly, and thought the interview was alright it was nothing special but I didn't dislike it.
I do sometimes think "stop the flirting now moyles and get on with the interview!" but thats just me... and thats his way...

I can imagin the interview went a bit to close to the mark for some people, but I quite like that, makes listening a bit more entertaining!
