The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

So here we are then the Saturday. I am such a lucky bleeder I get Fidays and Mondays off work so I have NO reason on this planet to moan. I was just wondering if anyone else got that mid-morning radio thing where sometimes as i sit at my mac wondering what people must think about me, half way through the Jo Whiley show I have to turn it off because it has ceased to be fun and just gone into some sort of playlist ..you sholuld watch this...yuo'll love this if mode... I really love Chris I like the way you reach the joke before him and thenm go all childish when the joke is obviously unplanned. I spend many a happy morn at roundabouts and junctions with him and Dave and Carrie and once having followed Aled in a bus around Sheffield I just get to thin king it must be so much fun to work in that world...Sometimes these Saturdays are just tumbleweed and frost...what say you people in here sheltering from the boring bastards out there?

8O wow.

Insightful.

Saturdays to me: recovering from little sleep, making way home after stopping out the night before, discovering how little money i have, despite not being that drunk. And today i get the bonus of taking some kids from church bowling. Oooo. Its gonna be a fun day.

It may be because I'm hungover but I honestly have no idea what any of that means.

Except you appear to stalk Aled.

Saturday. Woke up on what was effectively the first day of my three week holiday to find - I'm ill. Bloody typical. Spent most of the morning engaged in the endless task of trying to see a doctor, which wasn't easy when I'm feeling like sh1t and too dizzy to stand up, let alone walk without falling over.

Well I know where I'm going on my next night out then! It'd be cheaper to get the train down there, get plastered and then get the first train home in the morning than it would to go out in central London!

Ooh - 917 posts now....never noticed that.

It's bad enough going on about 100, 500, 1000, etc.. that's not even a milestone!

Is that guy even literate and/or sane?

And Foots, it may be because it's half 1 and I should be in bed, but I didn't really understand it either. Sentences and paragraphs just blended into one. Painful.

I did. He confirmed that I am ill. He told me that I have an infection in the deep tissues around my ear, jaw and eye socket. Which explained why my head was swollen up like the Elephant Man. He also said it was stress-related - how?! And that I must go to bed for three days. I say again - How??!! The weekend was busy, rehearsals and a concert last night, so that was out of the question - but I have changed my mind about going Christmas shopping today and am staying tucked up in blankets at home instead. At least my head has shrunk back to normal size. Can't hear out of my left ear at all though, which made singing yesterday a bit nervy.

Yuds, the option is stay in bed and rest and delegate the six million things on your to-do list to Mr. Yuds or risk being sick for Christmas, having your head blow up to the size of a football and not being able to hear. Time for a good book and some relaxation :(

I can't delegate the things to Mr Yuds because he is working up until Christmas. I've just given myself an even busier Thursday and Friday than I would have had otherwise. Which is already stressing me out.

It's so annoying when doctors say "it's stress related, you have to slow down and relax, get some rest" - which, in real terms, just means "put off all the things you have scheduled, they'll still need doing, you'll just have to cram them into two days instead of spreading them over a week - causing ultimately twice as much stress as before". How anyone can be expected to relax when you know what's building up for you while you're sitting around doing bugger all is beyond me, I certainly can't do it.

The world doesn't stop just because I'm not well, I'm not a man.

That's rather a sweeping statement there, Mrs Yudwuk..

It is, and after extensive consultation with my married friends, I find it to be as close to universal as makes no difference.

An example. Mr Yudster gets migraines. So do I. When Mr Y gets one, he grunts, says "I'm not getting up today", and effectively the world stops for him. When I get one, I have to get up, take Mr Y to the station, take Miss Y to school, take Baby Y to nursery - and nursery is just up the road from my office, so I end up going to work nine times out of ten. Also later in the day I have to do all those things in reverse too.

Before you get all defensive, this is NOT a complaint, it's simply a fact of life, the way things are.

Well I don't get migraines and I'm very rarely ill, but the world never stops when I do. I can't remember the last time I had a day off sick. I get probably four or five colds a year, but nothing I can't handle.

Hope you get better soon by the way!
