We had to learn some Freud things at uni - which I found odd since I was doing media.

The only thing that I remember is that a freudian slip is when you say one thing but you mean your mother.

Basically Freud thought that all men wanted to sleep with their mother's and subconsiously therefore wanted to kill their fathers, and that all women secretly wanted to be men and have penipee. Personally I think he was merely a repressed misogynist who had serious issues with his childhood - and was clever enough to fool the world into thinking that he was ok (therefore avoiding getting locked up as a lunatic), and it was the rest of the world who were barking. A true triumph of hope over statistics.
