I've just switched t'radio on and heard a very strange thing.. Colin Murray played Jo Whiley's Live Lounge on Tour trailer, during which she said "...and tomorrow, we're off to..." and then it launched into a Mr Blobby track.

Please tell me that's not right..?

Tomorrow she's coming to Coventry :D

Which i'm not happy about.

The Enemy, Jo Whiley, and Gordon Ramsey all in Coventry on the one day i'm in school all day. :(

just think, it could be worse. it could be the enemy, jo whiley, gorden ramsey and and russel brand along with the Foo Fighters in coventry while you in school.

I don't get the general dislike of Jo Whiley.

Don't get me wrong, I don't find her attractive, but I do like her show (though I rarely get to hear it.)

oh, if a woman is under 50, size 10 or smaller with few or no tattoos and all her features in the anatomically correct places, Moyles will fancy her. He's not exactly fussy.

On the subject of Mr Blobby...have you checked Listen Again for this??

Not checked Listen Again, but I'm reasonably sure I'm not going mad and I definitely did hear it. It's the Enemy today though, apparently, not Mr Blobby. Which is better.

I've just listened again. It was a piss take. Designed to catch out people that don't listen closely.

But yes, you did hear correctly - Jo said that 'the person in the live lounge tour tomorrow was ....' and then Colin cuts in with the Mr Blobby single.

I think Jo Whiley's really hot, and she has a very sultry voice.

She is alright on the radio introducing songs / talking about music etc. She is terrible when you add a random element in there: a caller / someone to interview. For example, if someone cracks a joke, she doesn't think up a response quick enough. A lot of the time, she doesn't sound relaxed when she is interviewing folks which I don't think makes great listening.

Yeah, but on the flip-side, you have female presenters like Edith and Fearne Cotton whose interpretation of being relaxed with people in bands involves sleeping with them. And they're annoying.
Jo whiley for ever i say.

Informative - I had no idea Mr Moyles would find me to be in his demographic womanfancying-wise. :D

I love Jo she's everything I would like to be - a good Mum, attractive, really knows her music and a totally professional presenter who's respected by her colleagues. Also she seems to have a sense of fun, and is a known party animal when obligations permit (so I'm led to believe).

I think the rest of New Live Lounge will probably be excellent, Jack Penate and Mika were both very good and maybe Chris will also be able to put his loo paper collection on eBay afterwards, if he wants to?

Edith is dreadful. She sounds like she's sight reading absolutely everything. Jo Whiley is just bland, and has a tendancy to try too hard to seem "cutting edge". Fearne is better, but she has the advantage of having a broadcasting partner to chat with, which makes for a more relaxed sound I always think. On the whole, I think I prefer to listen to men on the radio. Which is probably why I don't like Scott Mills.

I think that's because her entire show is texted or emailed... in fact, I'll text in now to help her out "TUNE!"

You don't like Scott?? :o
Well it'd be a sad old world if we all liked the same thing, I suppose. He (Scott) just makes me laugh so much :D
I saw a notice at the gym which in the vein of the old saying "laughter is the best medicine" said that laughing is not only good for you psychologically, but is actually excellent aerobic exercise!
So would seem that Scott and Chris are both going to keep us all fit. Well in your case only Chris...but you get what I mean.

I used to, when he was funny, before his show focused mainly on pre-recorded items and had some spontenaity. Chappers is a positive I think, but the other massive problem with that show is Laura. She's really very very bad. I think the show has gone consistently downhill since she became an active part of it, although I'm not saying that's her fault (I'm aware she has many fans). Something has gone slightly "off" with the level of the humour though, I can't quite put my finger on it but I think it's less witty and more bitchy now. I don't know, maybe that's not it - all I know is I used to think his show was great, now I can't listen to it.

Mills' show on early mornings was great. I think that was pre-Laura (it was certainly pre-Lara-getting-involved-in-on-air-discussions).

I used to like the revelations feature (I think that's what it was called.)

I agree Yudster, Scott used to be good listening but I'm a bit fed up with his 'kerazy' crank calls and low-brow humor (I know Chris isnt exactly 'clever stuff' but it's different). Laura really annoys me as she seems to be playing up to the 'dumb blonde' stereotype when theres no need to be.
And I can't stand their catchphrases. Theres only so many times you can say 'Goobornin' and 'amazin' without it getting really dull and pointless.
Rant over :D
