The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I have only discovered this radio duo (Simon Hames and Hill) in the last month (yeah, probably years behind everyone else), but does anyone else who has heard them think they are equally as good as the Chris Moyles Show ? It is aimed at a slightly older audience music wise, so probably a cross between Chris Moyles on Radio 1 and if he moved to Radio 2.

Is there any history between Simon James and Chris Moyles ? Reason I ask is I am sure I heard Chris Moyles mentioned when I was listening to the Alvin Stardust interview tonight but couldn't work out why. Do they not get on or are they mates ?

Oh and for anyone who doesn't know, they are on Original 106 in the evenings (so not in direct competition with Chris Moyles).

Also thought I would say hi to everyone. First time post here. I used to hate The Chris Moyles Show (I would always listen to Steve Wright over Chris during the afternoon hours), but one night in 2005 I suffered insomnia and listened to his Breakfast show (I don't wake up till gone 10am normally) while trying to sleep and actually found I loved it, not sure what changed. The humour is totally me, and I have also even bought both his books on day of release now, so I have gone from hating him to being a super fan. So for the last 2 years I have Sky Plused it every day and listen to it after midnight (I live odd hours). I must be the only person who listens to his show when it ends around the time his new show starts). So if Chris is reading, then cheers mate for 3+ hours each week day of fun, I actually feel depressed when he goes on holiday and there is 2 weeks without his show, arrggghh :)

Anyway, cheers everyone.

I've never heard of these people, nor the radio station for which they work... I'm not that inclined to have a listen to be honest, it's clearly a commercial station, which is a massive minus point for me straight away.

Do you know, I wondered if it was a local station, but then I thought that this guy doesn't seem silly enough to draw comparisons from a local station that very few people on here would have listened to.

Okay, although I understand what you are saying, there are logical reasons for what I said, firstly it is live on the internet for anyone in the world to listen to, and secondly they used to work at Virgin and plenty of other stations around the country that people may have heard them at (I only know this due to Wikipedia as this is the first I have heard of them, personally). Thirdly I am sure there are people on this forum from the south who can hear them on the radio. Fourthly, I can still compare someone from a national network to a small time one. And, er, fithly (??) I also just found out they were put up for awards and won, three times. So not as small time as you may think :) Oh and sixthly (again, ??) I mainly mentioned them due to Chris Moyles being mentioned on their show, but as mentioned above, couldn't work out the reason as I missed the bit before his name was said.

I'm just hinking, two first names as a DJ name normally puts me off straight away. Apart from Jeff Lloyd on Virgin late nights.

I don't normally listen to the radio over the net except listen again links to R1.

I can't remember Chris ever mentioning these two, the only other DJ's he normally mentions are Vaughn and the other day Simon Anstell (whatever his surname is, the guy who ballsed up buzzcoks.)

Did he balls up Buzzcocks? I thought he was quite good on it.

Not a patch on Lemarr

To be honest Buzzcocks stopped being funny ages ago. I blame the producers and the writers myself. Best guest was Sophie Ellis Bextor, just because every time she spoke Lamarr played the theme from Blue Peter. Actually I spoke to her the day after it was recorded and made a complete tit of myself by asking her out for a drink when she was stood with her boyfriend! I didn't know.
