The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Is it just me, but does anyone else find Dom and Carrie irritating?

Dom's feature's have historically been poor and unfunny. (I turn off at the "who knows Dom" feature, and "one road travel" was unfunny and pointless). For someone that only reads the news, i dont think he's good enough to be involved so much in the show. It also annoys me when he slates Chelsea and rubs it in when they loose. He calls himself a Liverpool fan, but I wonder how many times he's been to Anfield to actually support Liverpool, and actually paid for tickets instead of relying on his association with the show to get free stuff.

The same applies to Carrie. I dont think she brings anything to the show either.

Newsreaders should only be just that. Bought in to read the news and sport, then go away!

The rest of the team; Rachel, Aled, Dave (and Chris of course), prepare, write and work hard for the benefit of the show.
Dom and Carrie are just freeloading hangers-on.

Anyone with me on this?

Dom and Carrie were specifically chosen as the news and sport readers because that had personalities which would work well on the air with Chris and the team; hell they are apart of the team now. Dom may not have had many good features, but when he's talking on air he's almost always funny. As for Carrie, she may not be as directly funny, but she brings material for the team to talk about and make fun of her for.

I don't think it's particularly fair to call them 'freeloading hangers-on', they bring a lot to the show and I don't think it would be as good without the talk and interaction they bring.

I can bring talk and interaction! Anyone can.

I just dont think they are worthy of the amount of time and involvement they have in the show.

I dont think they add much, and I dont think the show would miss them if they weren't there.

Would your personality be a good fit for the team and the show? Are you also a trained journalist? If so, then why not apply for a job at Radio 1, who knows, you may make it onto the air at some point and be able to prove that you are as capable as Dom or Carrie.

People seem to have mixed opinions on Carrie, but you'd be hard pushed to find many on here who don't like Dom. You're fighting a losing battle there.

Franc knows somebody, who knows somebody else.
They know someone too, who knows it could be you.
Everybody in the world knows someone who knows Franc.
So its time to find out once again... Who Knows Franc?

I'm not convinced.

I love the team as it is
I feel it works well, And i do like Dom and Carrie!

I dont think they are freeloading or just along for the ride.

Not just anyone could work that well with the team!

Its a golden team i think

Who knows Dom is going isn't it? I think that's what Aled said in "Ask Aled".

They, they had the last one on the Thursday before they went on holiday. They had a discussion about how it should have gone 'round in a circle to lead back to Dom, and that they could have rigged it (but that would've been wrong).

Rigged??? BBC??? Not a chance! - Sorry couldn't resist. Any news on when this silly competition ban is going to be lifted?

Hey in the meantime - can Chris & Console blag the unending supply of prizes sent to the show and have competitions on here?

I listend to Scott Mills this morning and WKD (hmm best not use those initals again) is being replaced with Just Ask Dom.
you ask Dom a question, he answers it. A bit like Marylin Manson was Never in The Wonder Years but a Bit weirder I imagine. I'm gonna ask him, "How much wood would a wood chuck chuck If a wood chuck could chuck wood?" Actually it doesn't work that well when written down and I'm not even sure what a wood chuck is anyway?

The amount of wood that woodchucks would chuck on a given day varies greatly with the individual woodchuck. According to a Wall Street Journal article, New York State wildlife expert Richard Thomas found that a woodchuck could chuck around 35 cubic feet of dirt in the course of digging a burrow. Thomas reasoned that if a woodchuck could chuck wood, he would chuck an amount equal to 700 pounds.

Some say it depends on three factors:

-The woodchuck's desire to chuck said wood.

-The woodchuck's need to chuck the aforementioned wood.

-The woodchuck's ability to chuck the wood.

Others say:

-He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

-If he could chuck wood, the woodchuck would chuck as much as he could!

-A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

-A woodchuck would chuck all the wood that the woodchuck would chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

-If a wood chuck could chuck wood, he would and should chuck wood. But if wood chucks can't chuck wood, they shouldn't and wouldn't chuck wood. Though were I a wood chuck, and I chucked wood, I would chuck wood with the best wood chucks that chucked wood.

-If a woodchuck could chuck wood, then s/he'd chuck all the wood, s/he'd chuck and chuck and chuck and chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

-It would chuck the amount of wood that she sells seashells on the seashore divided by how many pickles Peter Piper picks.

-One quarter of a sycamore if you give him a quarter for every quarter of the sycamore he cut.

-It might depend on how many female woodchucks were present. Or, it could depend on whether the woodchuck's mother-in-law was around or not. If she wasn't, he'd be chucking all day. If not, he'd be watching the football game.

-Some maintain that woodchucks could not and would not chuck wood at all.

-It depends on how good his dentures are!

Answer
A wood chuck, would chuck, as much wood, as a wood chuck, could chuck, If a wood chuck could chuck wood.

But unfortunately, wood chucks do not chuck wood.

I don't care if it is a cut and paste job, it's still bloody entertaining. It's just so excessive is what I like.

Now Mr Loose (that makes you sound very amiable) your next trawling the internet mission whether you choose to bloody well accept it or not is to go solve my other quandry about Rachel's photo shoot.

people forget one thing here. Carrie is not the original chris moyles sports girl. That belonged too the beautiful Jules. Chris picked the team because of what he thinks each person brings too the table. Dom won't go. He wasn't first choice with radio 1 bosses when they picked a short list for chris. I don't even dom was on the list. And carrie was the name radio 1 bosses picked and eventually chris agreed when joules left for 5 live.
