Hi all,

We have just started to set up a radio station at our school/sixth form, The King John School in Essex. This is our first time in doing such a programme, and want to make it succesful. We have two people helping us along the way, but we would like some public intrest in this project. Firstly, we require a snazzy new name for the station.
We also require some shows to do, and wondered, if you were at school, what sort of radio shows would you like to hear?
All help and advice would be really appreciated.

Our College used to have a radio station and they tried to do bits with entertainment news and the like and it was impossible to hear because of the noise. I think the shows need to be music based and fast paced to keep the kids interest.

How is it gonna be broadcast?
When is it gonna be broadcast?
Who is gonna be involved?
How long is this project meant to run for?

Names are tricky, you can spend days and weeks on it and still not get it right. Whatever you do though, don't get frustrated and say right the next person who walks through that door, the first word out of their mouth is what we call the station...

The Sixth Form College in Colchester have a very good radio station which has been expanded and improved in the last year or so - why don't you get in touch with them for some advice? And good luck!
