VERY, VERY well done to Debbie Harry for her excellent Wednesday show at 9 pm on the wonderful R1. Thoroughly enjoyed her memories of her past, especially how BLONDIE came to be, how she decided upon her gorgeous image, etc., etc. which she actually got from the movies.

Was astonished to hear how embarassed she had actually felt at the time about her rapping on "Rapture", which has always remained one of my firm favourites.

Fascinating to hear how astonished she felt hearing her songs being played on the radio for the first time when she arrived in London.

Loved her very varied tastes in music. I would never have had her down as a "Madness" fan, I must say! However, excellent taste!! How switched on is this woman musically!! Knows everything about everybody!!

She ended the show by saying she has only improved with age (agreed!), people were welcome to disagree, but she would fight right back!! Excellent stuff! Determined, feisty!! Gal after my own heart!!

Please BRING HER BACK!!

Marks out of 10 = 10!!! Well worth a listen!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I've not really heard any of these, though I would have liked to have heard all of the last three; unfortunately they're on at a time when I'm out. They've got a few good catches for the legends thing and Debbie Harry is one of them. I wouldn't say she's improved with age in a musical sense though (Maria? Please.)

Just proves my point about me having good taste!! Besides, Aled's a big fan too. We can't both be wrong!! Rock on!!

You definitely can both be wrong, but since it's subjective, I was illustrating my point that in my opinion you have crap taste, not least because you are a Madonna fan.

I listened to (and recorded) the Paul McCartney legends show; it was a better listen than I thought it was going to be. He was the only one I was really interested in listening too though.

I don't know if this is through ignorance, or just because she's not that famous, but I don't have a clue who Deborah Harry is, who is she?

She was the lead singer of Blondie.

Plus, if you'd read through the thread properly, you would have seen "Blondie" (the band) mentioned in it.

But Paul McCartney isn't?

I liked McCartney's one he made some decent song choices and it was quite fun.
