Despite the 10th anniversary "goings-on", there are more and more rumours that cuddly Moyles is in fact moving into TV, and being phased out of radio altogether! He has, after all, been taking on more & more tv commitments of late.

What do others think of this?

Where are these rumours? I've not heard any.

Well if you don't say what these sources are, I would imagine "others" think the same as me... that you're talking tosh.

read it on um, but also a couple of mates e-mailed me (who had also read stuff elsewhere). Interesting, me thinks :-)

Right, and over at UM they have inside knowledge of this kind of thing. Where have your friends read it?

O tophs! Why does everything have to be analysed to bits!! It DOES make perfect sense considering the increasing amount of TV work he HAS been doing recently! I've never, ever thought he would stay in radio forever, and, if you have any sense, neither should you!

I'm not saying that, but I can't see a permanent move being imminent, that's all. If the BBC have any sense, they shouldn't be pushing for it either; not least because there are no suitable permanent replacements for his current role.

re: replacements for his current role... well, quite frankly, no-one is irreplacable. There is ALWAYS someone that can take over anyone's job, I think. That's just life, tophs.

He's tried and failed at TV too many times in the past, and I for one hope he doesn't try again. I think though, what with his apparant desire to keep working hard, I don't think he'll be leaving radio 1 in the near future.

so why because of past failures can there not be future successes? That's really negative, balls.

OK, you tell me who you think would be suitable to replace him; by that, I mean at least keeping the current listener figures.

right tophs... now, at this point, you're gonna back me into a corner, because naturally, I would suggest Mills, which means a whole load of people are going to go nuts !

I agree he would be the first choice, however, he's still not up to the standard, by a long way. I know on here we will be biased and don't think anyone would come up to Moyles' standard, however, the figures speak for themselves and it will be extremely hard to find a suitable replacement when Moyles finally quits the show, for whatever reason. Though, hopefully by that point there will be someone better to fit the bill.

What about Nihal..... I loved Nihal around Xmas-time! What about bringing Sara Cox back. I'm not particularly biased, I must say.... I'm open to any kind of suggestions about replacement DJs.

Nihal is dreadful and Sara Cox has been tried, tested and failed. In my opinion, both would have a fairly catastrophic effect on the figures, which must ultimately be what the BBC are interested in.

ok, well, we're going to have to have different opinions, and live with that.... Sarah has been tried, tested, and maybe the second time around would be a success. Who knows, tophs?

Console wrote:Why not bring back Zoe Ball, or Noel Edmonds?

is this some kind of joke? Zoe... maybe... but NOT Noel Edmonds: out-of-touch / out-of-time.

Yes, I'm fairly sure it was a joke Viv, well done for spotting it.

Personally I think going back to anyone who has done it in the past is a backward step.

It had just annoyed me, tophs., because it was a serious discussion and someone boots in a lot of tosh.

I think Console was just highlighting how silly he thought your suggestion of offering the job back to Cox is.

O, tophs, I don't need any crap candyfloss highlighting because someone happens to disagree with me.... anyway, I don't think it's silly at all.
