Chris gets mighty gig - FRIDAY NIGHT PROJECT on Channel 4

Image

for £50 GRAND

I said it last year that only time would tell when the springboard of offers would come straight through to his bank account. He's hot property.

ITV know it
Channel 4 knows it (obviously)
I know/knew it :P

BUT, those who believe different can wait to see if this magic power Chris is yielding in TV will last, whether a flash in the pan or a mighty fatboy feast, we shall see, but hey, theres loads of time ahead yet. I as much as anyone want him to stay at R1 for as long as possible, but it seems everything Chris touches turns to gold, well 50k anyway.

I'm sure that Chris will be extremely happy about 2 other things today - GEST only got 35 grand for his appearence. Plus, The Sun done a GOOD picture of him for once. :x

The Sun wrote:The Sun told last year how the self-styled “saviour of early morning radio” gets around £630,000 a year for his Radio One show.

I thought that was The Daily Mirror?

I can't believe you can tell the difference.

Well... I see your point but the Daily Mirror is slightly better quality. They are both easy to pick up and read, however, the Mirror doesn't make you nauseous doing so.

Daily Mirror doesn't stoop to having a Page3 girl anymore, and isn't quite as dumbed-down as The Sun.

I rarely have time to buy a paper any more, I normally stick to the BBC News web site and TV news, however, if I'm going to have time to sit down and read it, it depends how much time I've got. If I've only got a bit of time I'll buy a Daily Mirror, otherwise I'll buy an Independent.

Did the Mirror ever have Page 3?

I think even in the dark days of Maxwell it never had such a thing. Anyway however bad the Sun and Mirror are, local newspapers are always worse.

I can't comment on local newspapers because they print nice things about Mrs Topher and also the MK one prints our league tables and match reports. However, I see your point.

Is that Mrs Topher? She's very blurry.

'Tis a blurry picture - it wasn't when I sent it to them though. It's this pic here, though that's not of her playing a match, it's practicing. She's also got longer hair now.

No offence Mr Bopher, but she looks "mean" when she's playing ping pong. You don't want to mess with her.

(Is she taller than you?)

Obviously I have just spent the past five mins snooping about yer flickr account- those photos at the racing look pretty cool!

My dad and uncle are into their formula ford racing - uncle has been competing again recently at knockhill. My cousin (his son) has been working with a formula three team somewhere recently.

Also, in that photo you originally posted, it looks like Mrs Topher is playing table tennis with a slice of toast.

You certainly like your racing Topher the Bopher.
I've built one of them there Formula Ford cars in my time.....twas part of my university dissertation. Very fun to drive.

I'd not been for ages, Mrs Topher took me for my birthday. I'm a bit enthusiastic with my camera when I get going.

The Flickr account is relatively new, I've not had the chance to update everything, so it's only up to 2005 at the moment.

Also, playing table tennis with toast? What, have I missed something?

That does look fun. That's not you though?

My mate's dad used to race Formula Renault, we used to go and see him; he's retired now though, but my mate has followed him into it from karts (except he's Formula Ford at the moment). I've not been to Knockhill, but I've been to a few others - Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Donington, Mallory Park.

yea thats me - it aint my youtube account though, so I take no responsibility for what ever else is on there.

Bagfur - its a large open space with a route set out round cones or pylons. You end up doing handbrake throws and reverse flicks etc.

Fastest person wins.

Cars are sorted into seperate classes so that cars of the same types are racing against each other.

I nearly came second at the last event I did but I went and broke the car a meter from the finish line. Ended up pushing it over the line but lost too much time.

Ever so slightly, but the difference is about half an inch to an inch.

I may sound like it. I felt like a right fool though. The gears kinda stopped working but I thought it had just popped out of gear so I fannied about with that for a minute before I realised it wasn't as straight forward as that.

Then I jump out the car and start heaving it forward with people on the sidelines going "whaaaaayyy".

Not any germans there, but someone was clapping in a sort of patrionising sort of way.

Only dropped 17 seconds though so not then end of the world. Plus it was the last run of the day, so it could have been worse.

You looked like you had got lost and were panicking - and then in the end managed to find your way out.
