Did I hear correctly that the yummy Mr Simm (Life on Mars) will be on the show soon? Was half listening at one point this morning, and am not quite certain??

Please bring him on !!!

John Simm plays the main protagonist (DCI Sam Tyler) on 'Life on Mars' and he was also the spy that swapped bags with Daisy in the first episode of season two of 'Spaced'.

Ah, Life On Mars - how can a show which basically revolves around just one theme be as popular as that seems to be? Its terrible!

I've never seen a full episode, but the idea sounds quite good; policing in the 70s when it used to be quite brutal - picking fights with the suspects, etc.

Is John Simm the one who's also in Human Traffic? Loved that film!

Yeah he was in Human Traffic. I watched that film at my mates house after drinking more vodka than I ever have before or since and it made no sense. Does it actually make sense? I believe that welsh bird who was also in Casualty was in it.

Life on Mars is ace. Saying it has one theme is like saying why watch The Office because its only got one theme....

Well it's a long time since I saw it and I remember that I liked it but not a lot else. I think it made some sense, but probably wouldn't if you were laggered.

Mebbe. I think maybe I need to have a reason to hang my dislike of the programme on, seeing as how everyone else seems to like it so much. I mean, I couldn't possibly be wrong, could I?!

Life on Mars doesn't just have one theme: the point is you don't know whether Sam Tyler (John Simm) is in a coma, or has he been in a psychiatric unit since the 70's, or what... it's very deep and excellent. Unfortunately, it seems there will be no further series after the present one.
