Yeah it's been down - the server status page showed the message board server (and I think one of the audio host servers) as being down.

I assumed the server was down.....

I asumed it was a problem with trying to discharge the flux capacitor.

Woah there, not so hasty. I like Next Generation, DS9, and Voyager. Not the original series, not Enterprise and not the movies. Selective Trekker.

I agree with all of that except that I liked Enterprise, it wasn't as good as TNG, DS9 or STV, but it was O.K. enough to watch. Some of the films weren't too bad; I'm having a bit of trouble remembering which ones were the better ones, but I'm sure they are there.

The Search For Spock was actually quite good.

First Contact was the one I was thinking of (I think there was another TNG based one that was OK as well), but I can't remember if I've seen 'The Search For Spock' or not.

Edit: The other one I was thinking of was Insurrection, but it was nowhere near as good as First Contact.

Insurrection did indeed suck ass, and it came after First Contact. Keeps that trend that seems to be going where even numbered movies are good and odd numbered ones are crap. I also can't stand the originals, only TNG, DS9 and Enterprise. Voyager was OK but not great.

Ironically, my quote above was from one of the crapper movies, number 7 aka Generations.

What trend? Examples (other than the one that you just mentioned)?

Widely regarded in the opinions of many Trek fans, The (slow) Motion Picture (1), The Search For Spock(3), The Final Frontier (5), Generations (7) and the dull Insurrection (9) are regarded as not as good as The Wrath of Khan(2), The Voyage Home(4, the whales one), The Undiscovered Country(6, the one with Klingons quoting Shakespeare), First Contact (8, the Borg one, along with 2 as probably the most popular of all) and Nemesis(10).

Well it worked all the way up to Nemesis which I liked, but apparently wasn't all that well received.

Oh as in Trekky movies. I assumed you meant all films in general.

Nah just trek films... though I often find sequels arent as good as the first films in a series...
